Displaying plates on the wall & other favorites – If you are new here, I share my favorite finds of the week with my friends Cindy and Mary Ann every Sunday. Plates on the wall are my new obsession! Recently I’ve shared how much I love the cottage look and the French look, and this week, let’s discuss plates on the wall. I suppose it has never really gone out of style, but lately, I’ve seen a few that stop me in my tracks. It’s a way to collect and display at the same time.
I’ve always been drawn to collections; it makes going to flea markets, thrift, and charity shops so much more interesting when you are on the hunt for something. And I always prefer to cluster collections. I do not want stuff all over the house. Even my sand collection has one shelf.
Here are a few of those plates on the wall that I just can’t get enough of and the half-painted wall…Love that too!
So, what do you think? Yes, to plates on the wall? Or perhaps you already have a collection of plates on the wall? I’m kind of loving it! These examples illustrate how versatile plate walls can be in homes and restaurants.

This J. Crew Slip Skirt is my Outfit of the Week
I’ve had it for less than a week, and I’ve worn it three times! That’s when I know I’ve made an excellent purchase. It may come to a close second to my Kule stripe T-Shirt that I wear so often; people probably recognize me by my stripes. That’s okay; I AM AN OUTFIT REPEATER! Are you?
This week, I wore my new J. Crew skirt with this new oversized white pocket shirt from Madewell and Adidas Sambas sneakers. So comfortable to wear all over Brooklyn and Manhattan.
I’ve also worn it with my favorite denim jacket from the GAP with a white T-shirt.
On day three, I wore it to run errands and wore it with a brown linen shirt from GAP and a black tank. I wore brown oxfords because I just love oxfords. Mine are so old from Cole Haan, but I love these if I ever need to replace them.
If you love to dress like a French woman…

You look fantastic in that skirt, Annie…and it would be good for travel. I have a black one that I need to wear more.
I put some Italian plates (that I collected for years but stored in SF) on the patio wall and you’ve convinced me to add a couple more that I have. Just a little worried about hurricanes :/
Great post!
Oooh Mary Ann, that sounds beautiful on your patio, but you may have to remove them during storms. xx
Hi Annie,
Love that new chocolate J crew skirt and the way you wore it !! Looks amazing you have inspired me :)I recently went to a friends house and she had a pottery art wall of beautiful glazed pieces and shards with drawings of birds on it all interweaving in smokey blues and greys. So beautiful ! Happy Sunday !

Love your look. It’s just so cool. Those plates on the wall are fabulous. Those red ones knocked my socks off. Oh and the diagonal ones are just great. My walls are covered with art. My cabinets with plates.
I know, Sandra! Aren’t they gorgeous with the red stripe cushions? xx
I love the idea of hanging plates on the wall but I don’t like the look of metal plate hangars.
Do you have any other hanging methods that you could suggest?
LuLu
I agree! It doesn’t look like these use that method. I’ve seen those sticky pads you put on the back that doesn’t show, but I wonder if they would hold?
Happy Sunday Annie,
