Spring in Central Park and other favorites

| |

Back for another round of Sunday Favorites with my friends Cindy & Mary Ann! Today I’m starting with spring in Central Park.

Spring in Central Park

This week we had one of those perfect spring days in New York City. You know, the ones where the weather is perfect. Not a degree too cold or too warm, but just right. Rain was in the forecast for the rest of the week, so we took off mid-week and walked almost 11 miles crisscrossing the park. We started up at about 94th Street and walked around the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir, walked through gardens, over the Bow Bride, the Bethesda Fountain, the Boat House, and then back to the east side where we walked by The Metropolitan Museum of Art. It was spectacular and absolutely had to make one of my top five favorite things this week! The entire city is in bloom at the moment, and I did not want to miss out.

Serena & Lily

I’ve had my eye on this beach umbrella from Serena & Lily for the last couple of seasons. I love the color block one too!

I am loving this rug also from Serena & Lily. Its warm colors of rust and gold are taking me back to the early 90s when we had shabby chic slipcovers and kilim pillows similar to this rug.

Outfit of the Week

We’ve decided to do an outfit of the week. We are still very much in the thick of spring which means most days are still quite cool. A jacket is almost always a must! Blazer season is upon us. I love a black blazer that can be dressed up or down. You can even wear a black blazer over workout pants, throw on a scarf and ballet flats, and no one would know. I’m wearing my new favorite stripe t-shirt from Old Navy, a silk bandana from Madewell along with the Cali Demi-Boot Jeans.

I am always prepared for wet weather and make sure to have a pair of sneakers with me in case of rain to protect my flats.

The Mac Coat

The trench that I shared in this post is still getting me through our rather cool spring. I was about to send it out to the dry cleaners knowing that it would be around $25 and then l realized I could wash it! I treated it with my natural stain stick (Thieves Household Cleaner, Thieves Dish Soap, and lemon essential oil). It had a coffee stain, a black grease stain and I spilled hand sanitizer on it. Everything came out and I hung it to dry and it looked perfect! This coat wins me over…again! And the best part is that it’s $130 from Everlane

Make sure to check out the favorites this week from Cindy and Mary Ann!

I loved Cindy’s post on folk-inspired fashion, definitely check it out when you visit and Mary Ann has the best before and afters! Wait until you see this dining room she did. It went from dark and dated to light, bright and jaw dropping!

I LOVE seeing Central Park through your eyes. Don’t you feel fortunate to be so close! Love your outfit of the week. You look so great in blazers and I LOVE those Madewell bandanas. I think I own about ten of them!! Happy Spring!

  2. Stunning photography, Annie. Makes me long for a trip to the Big Apple. Great outfit too … I love a blazer / loafer combination. Even better with great jeans! xo
