Here are my top 10 Most Lovely Things posts of the year and what it tells me about creating content in 2025.
On January 1st, I sent out a survey, and as the responses are coming in, I realize that between reading the responses from you, my readers and looking at the top 10 posts, I have a much better idea of what I need to focus on this year!
As a lifestyle creator, I create content from recipes and crafts to home-related projects to travel and fashion. So, it’s unsurprising that my top 10 posts are split among those categories.
My #1 Post from 2024 – How to Style Sneakers with Everything
The sneaker trend is here to stay. My post was mainly about wearing Adidas Sambas, which appear not to be losing popularity, but another sneaker will take its place even when they do.
Sneakers are comfortable and practical for everyday wear and travel. You can spend around $100 and get a great pair of sneakers that will look fashionable with everything from jeans to skirts. Not many shoes are comfortable right out of the box and trendy without spending several hundred dollars. And even then, a good pair of loafers take some breaking in before you can wear them for a long day of walking. My experience with Adidas Sambas is that they are comfortable right out of the box.

#2 Ina Garten’s Gruyère Quiche
My second most popular post is Ina Garten’s Gruyère Quiche. Since I make it quite often, and it’s so delicious, I can see why! Quiche is great for brunch, lunch, or even a casual bistro dinner with a simple green salad.
Quiche has so much going for it. You can make it ahead, swap out ingredients once you have the basics, make a homemade pie crust, or use a store-bought crust. It’s all about how much time you have, but either way, a quiche made with eggs, cream, and cheese will be delicious!

#3 Tips on Visiting the New York City Flower Market
Tips on visiting the New York City flower market continue to make up my top 10 list! If you’ve never been, I highly suggest a visit. Even if you are just visiting NYC, seeing it any time of year is inspiring. Summer, winter, and around any holiday are amazing, even if you are not in the market for a truckload or an armful of flowers.
You can find anything at the New York City Flower Market. A few years ago, we were featured in Better Homes & Gardens’ Christmas issue, which was shot in January. So, they sourced a fresh 7′ Christmas tree, garlands, and wreaths at the flower market, and they delivered them to our home in Connecticut...in January.

#4 Winter is the Best Time to Spend 4 Days in Lisbon
Last winter, our family spent four days in Lisbon, and it was the perfect short trip to discover a new city. We stayed in an apartment we found using Tablet Hotels, which I highly recommend. Tablet Hotels is a way to find the best hotels at all prices in the best locations. You can read that post here.
We love to travel, but even when traveling, I’m a homebody, if that makes any sense. I like to feel comfortable in my surroundings. I bought candles, coffee, and fresh flowers for our stay, and everyone kept saying how nice it was to feel relaxed and at home, even miles away in a new city!

#5 How to Easily Refurbish and Restore Wicker or Rattan Furniture
Wicker and rattan furniture and accessories remain popular in home decor, so restoring them will always be necessary. We have a Serena & Lily Hanging Chair on our porch and leave it outside through all the elements. Every spring, we restore it, and it looks as good as new.

Trader Joe’s has the best flowers at the best prices. One of my favorite things (and yours, too) is making several small flower bouquets with a few bunches. I made seven arrangements for $27!

#9 Ideas on How to Organize a Small Clothes Closet
This post made the top ten in less than a year. It’s a small walk-in closet that has remained tidy even after 11 months. I take a little about once a month to get rid of items and put shoes and bags in their proper place after wearing them. A little bit of time and some organizing items is all it took!

#10 You Need to Make This Copycat Recipe for Humble Crumble
Humble Crumble continues to make the top ten posts! We loved this dessert we had in London so much that we had to recreate it when we returned home. It’s still a favorite and fun to serve at a dinner party. It gets the conversation going about travel and favorite foods! And isn’t the food you have when traveling a big part of why we travel? It is for us!
