I have the best Easter basket ideas for teen or adult girls. The good news is that the “basket” will be something that will be useful beyond the Easter holiday. Younger children may love the idea of a traditional Easter basket, but older kids and young adults prefer something purposeful. Today, I am sharing a few unique Easter basket ideas for the perfect Easter basket this year!
What can I use instead of a traditional Easter basket?
A Crossbody Bag from Uniqlo in 9 colors
This is where the idea started. This last weekend, I was at the Uniqlo store in SoHo, NY, and saw the display wall of Round Mini Shoulder Bags in every color. A few that jumped out at me were the pastel colors that all looked like Easter egg colors in the best possible way.
So, I chose three: pink, yellow, and lavender, but as you can see, they have so many different colors to choose from that could be considered Easter egg colors.
They also have crochet crossbody bags in two neutral colors if that’s more your thing!
Put a Matching Bow on Each Bag
I went to M&J Trimming and found ribbons in the same colors as the bags.
A Tote Bag is a Great Easter Basket Idea
So many cute tote bags are available everywhere, from major retailers like Gap to Amazon, J.Crew to Target. They make a great gift that can double as an Easter basket that you don’t throw away!

I love these striped totes from J.Crew in ivory or navy. You can even order it monogrammed!

Gift Guide: What kind of Easter basket stuffers could I add to a teen’s Easter basket?
There are many ideas, from chocolate bunnies to cute flip-flops for spring! Here’s a list of a few gift ideas of our favorite things that could work in a tote or crossbody bag.
- Nail polish and nail files
- Beauty products like a new lipstick or lip gloss
- Face masks
- Bath & shower bombs
- A new phone case or a Clutch charger
- Personal care items like razors, French soap, travel shampoo & conditioner
- Mini portable speaker
- A new water bottle
- A great book or magazine
A Small Tray & Basket from Uashmama
Another idea is to use these washable paper bags from UASHMAMA. They have bags and trays in many beautiful colors, shapes, and sizes. I’m showing two favorites you could use as an Easter basket and then have forever. I use mine in my closet for organization and in the kitchen to hold cocktail napkins. You can see them in this post tucked into crates on the wall.
So in the small square tray, I added a package of paper cocktail napkins, a little paper shred in kraft paper to keep things neutral. Then, as a fun way to personalize the chocolate bunny, I tied a brown and white gingham bow on the chocolate bunny. It’s a little better than the bright red bow on them.
What kind of candy for older kids/adult Easter baskets?
Skip the plastic eggs filled with jelly beans reserved for Easter egg hunts and buy good quality chocolate like Lindt chocolate bunnies, See’s, or Godiva.
Switch Out the Ribbon for Gingham Bows for Your Easter Baskets
This is so easy, and yet it makes such a difference. Sometimes, I use ribbons that I have on hand or even my ripped canvas ribbon.
