How to put together a simple spring brunch for the girls that even includes a little parting gift of flowers and seed packets. I’m joining a few friends to share ideas for spring brunch and lunch ideas. Links at the bottom of the post. Thanks for stopping by!

I love to have my friends over and make them feel special with a few touches that are so easy, but beautiful too. One of my favorite tricks is to combine flowers for the table that also double as party favors. Such a simple idea, but who wouldn’t love to take home a little jar of flowers? I buy a bunch or two of Chamomile and place small jars everywhere. My mini entryway shelf, the powder room, my desk, and one on the crates between the kitchen and dining room.

Here’s how to put the flowers together for the brunch table

The Supplies You’ll need for the flower party favors

  • Small paper bags
  • A Sharpie paint pen
  • Small re-purposed jars (I used French mustard jars)
  • one or two bunches of chamomile flowers (I wanted to use the small daisy like Chamomile flowers, but couldn’t find them and realized that these little yellow buttons are also a variety of Chamomile).
  • seed packets or tiny envelopes with seeds divided.
  • scissors

Here is how I made the flower bags

  1. First, decorate the bag with a simple design or flowers as I did on both sides of the bag. Since they are also going to be on the table as decor, it’s nice to have both sides decorated. A white Sharpie paint pen works nicely on the kraft paper bags.
  2. Once you have the bag decorated on both sides, keep the bag folded and trim the top of the bag about 2″ down from the top and cut a simple scalloped edge.
  3. Now trim the flowers short, but not too short! Fill the jar about half way with water, put your flowers in the jar (with leaves below the water line removed) and place ther jar inside the bag.
  4. Place each little bag filled with flowers at each placesetting. You can personalize the bags if you wish. Now you have a beautiful, but simple spring table with flowers for the table, party favors and maybe even place cards if you personalized them!

Here’s what else I used for the spring brunch table for the girls

At one end of the table, we had room because it’s only for four, I used a large white marble serving board and added a big jar of pussy willows, some chocolate bunnies on a black and white transferware plate, and a simple candle we got in London @inbloom152 on Columbia Road. Very simple, but lovely too! The little bunny with a Pilea plant is from Trader Joe’s, who could resist? The napkins are from west elm. I love the soft green color with the frayed edge. You know I love a frayed edge.

How to put together a simple spring brunch for the girls and what we served

It’s best to keep it simple for brunch or breakfast. We enjoyed yogurt with homemade granola with tangerines on top with a drizzle of Mike’s Hot Honey, So easy, and the granola can be made the day before. Tangerines can be peeled the morning of and it’s nice to have at least two kinds of honey. Although everyone enjoyed the hot honey! Next time I will add a packet or a mini jar in the little bag with the jar of flowers as another nice little surprise in the parting gift or party favor.

Stoneware and table linens are from Garnet Hill. And my favorite Cayman Glassware is from Serena & Lily. Bread plates are vintage. The water bottles are empty wine bottles that I love. They have the word Provence embossed in the glass. I have them resting on Weck Jar lids to keep the tablecloth dry from condensation. The Weck jar lids work great as pillar candle coasters.
