How to Set a Rustic Holiday Tablescape

| | |

How to set a simple rustic holiday tablescape mainly using what you have. When I first thought about joining this fun group today for holiday tablescapes, I thought, what could I possibly do that I haven’t already shared? And then I started thinking about it, and before I knew it, I had an idea that even included a long-lasting centerpiece!

The Centerpiece was the Inspiration for the Holiday Table

On Sunday, I shared making paperwhite kits using vintage café au lait bowls. Since I had extra paperwhites and Amaryliis, I decided they would be my centerpiece. I used my Bergs pots from Terrain with vintage saucers and plates. Many are available in my shop!

The rustic pottery paired with the vintage plates and saucers added a touch of elegance.

I covered the potting soil with foraged moss. I added a few small pine cones since it’s the holiday season.

Instead of adding a garland of greenery on the table, I used a metal garland for more texture and something shiny since it is the holidays!

The Dining Room Table

Since our dining table is already rustic, I decided to leave it bare rather than use a tablecloth or a table runner.

Table Settings + Dinnerware

For a rustic Christmas tablescape, the dinnerware must be rustic. I used Sintra Stoneware dinner plates, and for a very subtle pop of color, I used these pink salad plates from Terrain.

I continued with the pink theme and used pink linen plaid napkins. Instead of napkin rings, I topped each with a mushroom ornament for each guest.

Candles

I used votives in mini tart tins intertwined between the potted bulbs and the metal garland to illuminate the decor while keeping with the rustic tablescape idea.

Planted mini trees are perfect for a Christmas table setting. Or just a few sprigs of evergreen in vintage bottles.

I love to collect old bottles at thrift stores and flea markets. They always look beautiful with a sprig of pine or a garden flower.
