Why I Love The Office of Angela Scott Loafers

|

I jumped at the chance to work with the brand The Office of Angela Scott. I have admired their shoes for several years. The style and the quality are impeccable.

I have always loved loafers. I’ve talked about wearing them in several posts. I wore them in the 80s, and while there may have been a few years where I didn’t wear them as much, I’m back to wearing loafers on a regular basis. Basically, I’m wearing my new loafers when not wearing my Adidas Sambas.

Why I love loafers!

When I went back to look, I had written on the subject quite a few times!

5 Essential Pieces for the Menswear Looks

They are such timeless shoes. I gravitate toward flats (I only wear flats), but this brand has all options. They may have started out with only flats, but now the same styles are available with a heel, too. They are an investment shoe, for sure. I personally would rather have a few pairs of quality shoes in my closet than a rack of medium-priced shoes that can’t even be re-soled. These shoes will last a lifetime. And I love knowing that I can wear this shoe for years. With jeans, skirts, dresses…almost everything in my minimal closet can be worn with the Ms. Charlotte Loafer. It’s the perfect addition to my “uniform.” – Denim, stripes, chore coat, and loafers.

My favorite is Ms. Charlotte Loafer, but a close second is Mr. Evans Oxford.

I took their size quiz to determine my size to order. It was very helpful and accurate. Below, I’m wearing my favorite striped Tee from Kule, jeans, and a wool chore coat from Buck Mason.

Inexpensive rugs from Wayfair by Novogratz

I have had this rug in our laundry room for a few years. During the Way Day sale, I ordered it in the reverse color, charcoal with gray, for our kitchen. It comes in several sizes, including several sizes of runners. It’s a great indoor/outdoor rug at a great price. My runner is 2’7″ x 7’6″ and it’s only $30. You will need a non-slip rug pad with this rug.

Do you have Amazon Prime?

This week, I drove to our local Walmart, and it’s closing. I was shocked. So now, more than ever, I will be using my Amazon Prime account. To be honest, it’s easier to order on Amazon, and with my Prime account, I get free next-day shipping. It’s better than driving to Walmart.

Shop my favorites from the lists I’ve put together of things I buy on Amazon right here.

SHOP MOST LOVELY THINGS

It’s pretty much the opposite of Amazon! As many of you know, we re-opened our shop on October 23rd.

We didn’t anticipate that when we opened the shop after our recent buying trip to France, we would sell out of almost everything we had purchased. We are so grateful for everyone’s support and really hope that you enjoy the little treasures that we found. We can’t thank you enough! Honestly, we expected to get through the holiday season with what we had found and purchased. Many of you have reached out asking if we’d be getting more products in before the holidays.

Well, given such an overwhelmingly positive response, we are heading back to France for one more buying trip to stock up for the holiday season.

Since we’ll be gone and won’t be able to ship out products, we will be closing the store at midnight on November 4th. We’ll then reopen on Friday, November 24th!

Look for updates coming your way. We are so grateful for your interest in our little shop! Thank you!

Thanksgiving is 25 days from today!

Are you on the list to receive your “Complete Guide to Hosting Thanksgiving,” which will be sent out on November 1st?

It’s a guide that you can print out, take notes on, get ideas, and lists with boxes so you can check things off and add your own list of to-do’s –and it will be sent out to all MLT subscribers. It’s a compilation of things I gleaned from the free Thanksgiving books from Williams Sonoma. Remember those? I’ve saved them for years and have added things along the way! This guide puts it all in one place. It’s free of pretty photos because I wanted it to be something you’ll want to print out every year as you prepare for hosting Thanksgiving.

Scrub & Throw Sponges

I’ve talked about these environmentally friendly sponges before, and now they come in a larger size. They still have the small original sponges, but if you like the idea of a larger sponge, they now have that option as well. Both sizes are made with 100% loofah plant fibers and are meant to be used once and then tossed. No more yucky germs, but since it’s made using biodegradable loofah, there’s no need to worry that your sponge is going into the landfill; it’s truly a win-win!

Let’s see what Mary Ann & Cindy found this week!

  1. I do not wish to appear rude but going shopping at Amazon is why Walmart is closing. You advocate shopping online and yet you own a shop. I, also own a shop with unique items and become disheartened when rude clients snap photos to check online prices. I do not carry any items found on Amazon. But if one is that cheap don’t come to a small shop with unique items.

  2. Annie you rock those Office of Angela Scott Loafers. They are so you!!I need to check out those sponges. You have so many darling items in your store. LOVE

  3. Hi, Annie —
As for shopping at Walmart, we need to be aware of what/whom we are supporting when we patronize an establishment. There’s no point in me sending my money to my chosen causes if I’m going to turn around and shop at Walmart. I don’t agree with the political mindset and causes that the Walmart family funds and supports. I have made one purchase at Walmart, and that was for a car battery in an emergency situation after 9:00 p.m., when it was my only option.
Just something to keep in mind. Thank you.

  4. Hi Annie,
I’m so late catching up with my blog reading. But I didn’t want to miss your shoe recap, and of course take time peruse your shop. Darn, I’ll need to be quicker next time! Such pretty things, congrats on selling out!
Enjoy your second trip to France, lucky you!
