What to wear when you’re staying home
Hi! Today Cindy, Mary Ann, and I join a few friends to share our ideas on what to wear when you’re staying home. This past year has been quite a shift in what we wear because we are all staying home. And what we wear when we have no intention of leaving the house can look a little different than when we were out in the world. For me, I’ve always had the habit of getting up, ready for the day with hair blown dry and a little make-up even if I’m not leaving the house because of the way it makes me feel. Since we are working from home rather than going into an office (although I have been working from home for over a year), I feel more successful and driven when I’m “dressed” for the day, even when I’m not leaving the house except for maybe a walk.
I love my Summersalt Cashmere joggers!
That being said, my wardrobe is maybe a little more comfortable than wearing jeans every day. I still make sure to slip on a pair of jeans a few times a week…making sure they still fit but wearing clothes that allow me to take to the mat several times a day makes a lot of sense.
Joggers, Shirt-Jackets, and Allbirds, are some of my Favorite things lately!
- Summersalt Hoodie // 2. Allbirds Tree Dashers // 3. Shirt Jacket // 4. Summersalt Joggers // 5. HeatTech Turtlenecks // 6. Everlane Perform Tank // 7. Lululemon Scrunchies // 8. Everlane Cashmere Cardigan // 9. Shirt Jacket // 10. Everlane Perform Legging // 11. Uniqlo Ultra Smooth Pants
I have added a few pieces to my wardrobe that allow me to take breaks to do 15 minutes of yoga or stretching throughout the day. I have a mat set up all day, and when I’m feeling a little anxious, I take a break. Instead of scrolling on my phone, I’ll turn on my diffuser with the chimes and do a few yoga stretches or planks. I subscribe to The Balanced Life which has a library of full-length Pilates classes to short 11-12 minute stretch classes. I know my body needs it, and listening to what it needs has been important this year, more than ever!
Make sure to see what my friends are saying about what to wear when you’re staying home…
do the somersault joggers have pockets?
Hi Virginia! No, they don’t have pockets. I think that might because anything heavy in the pockets would stretch out the pants. Does that make sense? I love them, but I wash them every time I wear them though because they do stretch out.
Those cashmere joggers have my name all over them. You look great! Thanks for linking the Balanced Life. It looks like a terrific way to stay flexible and strong, which I sure need. Thanks for including me, this was fun.
Those joggers look great and so cozy! I’m a fan of cashmere anything. 😉
Love all these pieces, Annie. I agree that getting up, showered and hair blown out makes all the difference in how I feel tackling the day at home … that said, I’d fallen out of the habit. But, new year … new goals. You ladies are inspiring me today! xo
