Merlo, a Lovely Coffee Shop in Paris

Coffee shop painted merlo red with small black stools on the sidewalk in Paris.

Whenever we visit Paris, we love to return to some of our favorite spots, but we also seek out a few new places. Merlo is one of those places I’ve been wanting to visit after seeing it on Instagram. I thought it would be the perfect place to share, along with a few travel items for Sunday favorites.

Merlo Café is located in Le Marais

Merlo is located in the 3rd arrondissement, or Le Marais, which is one of our favorite areas of Paris. Chances are, I walked by the shop last December without even realizing it. It’s on the same street as Café des Musées and very close to Merci, one of our favorite stores in Paris. You can read more about Merci in: Your Guide to Some of the Best Shops in Paris.

It’s a stunning shop with cement walls that have been left bare as part of the exquisite design. Above the beautiful wooden bar are these gorgeous pendant lights that fill the space with the most gorgeous light.

A modern dark wood shelf is on a wall above the bar with just the right amount of decor items. A candelabra, some vintage stainless steel footed bowls, a sculptural vase, and some clear glassware.

The name Merlo is also part of the design, with the perfect shade of Merlo paint color for the shop’s exterior. Think of a glass of merlo wine, and that’s the color of the caffe. I highly recommend Merlo for a coffee, dessert while you are in the area. There are a few stools outside on the sidewalk, and inside there is bench seating with small round tables, as well as some stools. They also have a nice restroom, which is good to know! Olaplex Shampoo & Conditioner

I’ve been using Olaplex for about eight months, and I can say it has helped the health of my hair so much. I thought I was using a quality shampoo and conditioner, but my hair was looking dull, and my strands of gray were unruly. Olaplex has definitely made a difference. I even started traveling with Olaplex, something I never thought necessary. I also love the Bonding Hair Oil. It makes my hair look shiny and tames my grays! If you are looking for a change in hair products, try Olaplex, and the Olaplex website has the best prices. I was buying at Nordstrom, but it’s quite a bit more expensive at department stores.

Compression Packing Cubes & Travel Scale

I’ve been a fan of packing cubes for several years. Only recently have I started using compression packing cubes. They keep everything organized, and then on top of that, they save space. Now, of course, the weight is the same, but they really do save space in your luggage.

I’ve mentioned this before, but if you shop, or just find that when you return home, your luggage seems heavier than when you left, then you need one of these. It’s very lightweight and easy to use. It has saved us many times! I always stuff one of these Ikea zippered bags in my luggage, just in case I need more space, or my bag is over the allowed weight.

Eby Bras and Underwear

I stocked up on new underwear and bras before the trip. I love the Relief and Support Bra Bundle and these panties. So comfortable, and can be handwashed, but since the bras have no wires, I just toss them in the machine on gentle.

Lumify Eye Drops

I use Lumify Eye Drops every day when I travel. Traveling and being in different time zones is hard, but one drop in each eye, and my eyes don’t show it!
