We love the Lower East Side of Manhattan. It’s quieter than other neighborhoods, there always seems to be available street parking, and there is no shortage of coffee shops and cafes. Little Canal is one of those coffee shops that is effortlessly cool.
Whether you’re in the mood for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, Little Canal has got you covered. The cafe’s cool, casual vibe somehow makes it the perfect combination of a coffee shop and a bar. There’s a seasonal mint lemonade on the menu right now that we can’t wait to try.
The long counter lined with cafe chairs was the perfect place to enjoy our coffee with a view of Seward Park. It’s finally starting to feel like spring in New York, so we’ll take any chance to sit and enjoy the new blooms. There are also several tables where you can enjoy your coffee as a group or get some work done.
We love the use of vintage furniture in this shop. The unique art also brings a welcome pop of color to the otherwise neutral palette of the cafe. The greenery all over the cafe is the perfect touch– it totally provides us with some apartment inspiration. Speaking of which, check out our recent post on how to make the most of a small space in an NYC apartment.
A cup of coffee with an FDNY truck in the background, what could be more New York than that? And if you haven’t followed us on Instagram yet, check us out @coffeeshopsofnewyork for frequent updates on our latest coffee shop adventures around the city.
