How to make 4 mini Trader Joe’s flower bouquets under $20 with a charming, easy-to-make custom wrap. I love making little gifts to take to my friends when we meet up for a walk or a coffee in town, and around this time of year, I’m thinking of Valentine’s Day. I thought these mini Trader Joe’s flower arrangements would be the perfect thing to share for Sunday Favorites with Mary Ann and Cindy.
I went to Trader Joe’s with an open mind on the type of fresh flowers for my mini bouquets. You can always count on Trader Joe’s flowers. Every day of the week, they will have something that will work for any floral arrangement. I love walking into my local store, and immediately, you’re in the flower section. What a lovely way to start a shopping trip!
Choosing flowers at Trader Joe’s
Choose 2 colors

Once I saw the selection, I decided on bright pink and yellow as my two colors.
Focal flower
Like I said, go with an open mind if possible so you are not disappointed. Choose one focal flower. This time that would be a carnation of all things. Usually, I would go with roses, but I wanted to keep the total arrangement cost under $20.
Filler flowers
A great way to keep a small budget is to use filler flowers. Most filler flowers are $4 or $5 for a small bunch.

How I put the bouquets together
The mini bouquets are perfect for a little pitcher, or a sake glass.
Make the flower wrap
I made a custom wrap using one sheet of butcher paper, approximately 15″ x 17″. I wrote the word “love” using this kind of black marker. I wrote in as straight of a line as possible, but it started to slant toward the bottom, but that’s fine. We are not going for perfection. You could write a message, a name, happy birthday, get well soon, congratulations, etc.
Then, cut the paper into four squares. Put aside (keeping dry), and prepare your flowers.
Making the 4 mini bouquets
Lay out the flowers and cut the stems shorter, removing leaves below the water line in a vase or cup. Divide the flowers and make four similar arrangements using a little of each type of flower. When you are happy with one, wrap a little raffia or twine to keep it together. Continue until you have four bunches.
Then, wrap each bouquet in the square wrap you made or brown paper from a Trader Joe’s Bag. That works, too!
The total cost of this little project was $19. I wrapped up items using white butcher paper I use for my shop and raffia that I had on hand. My favorite pen is this Tombow Dual Brush Pen. I use it for everything.
Here are a few more Sunday favorites this week:
We have a few things in the shop that might be perfect for a Valentine’s present. I am waiting for my passport to be renewed so we can return to France for a buying trip!
Left to right: French dinner knives // bistro ramekins // Grand Marnier ashtray
Color of the Year: Mocha Mousse
coffee mugs // glass jar with lid // bowl // small bowl // pedestal cake plates
Pantone says “the color, a warm, mellow brown, is meant to represent the desire for nourishment and sharing simple pleasures.” –
I love that brown is in…it’s the loveliest color from nature…the color of dirt, pinecones, and dried hydrangeas. And the new mocha mouse collection from MacKenzie-Childs.
We are changing out furniture from one room to another to create a larger coffee bar, and I’m thinking of adding in at least one MacKenzie-Childs mocha mousse checked item. Like the glass jar for coffee pods, or maybe the mugs…
Lindywell Pilates App
I have been loving the Lindy Well app. I can use it at home or the gym and when I travel. I love that I only need a mat and maybe some resistance bands.
When you are ready to work out, you can browse the app to find exactly what you want in terms of type of workout and length of time. You can choose a full body workout for 31 minutes, or even a workout in under 15 minutes. It’s exactly what I needed to incorporate a little more into my fitness routine. Even after a quick workout, I feel so refreshed, strong…It’s amazing what even an extra eight minute core workout can do! Try it, you will love the workouts and the conveneince.
Berry Bins
I talked about these berry bins in my refrigerator cleaning post. Turns out they are the best for storing berries and grapes. You can wash and put them in the bin. They drain into the bottom of the bin that’s seperated from the food. It’s quick and keeps berries fresher longer.
You are so thoughtful, Annie. Who wouldn’t love that little bouquet.
Hi Annie
I have been thinking about starting a pilates app to do at home in between classes. I am going to check yours out. Those bouquets are darling, and I need those berry boxes!
Annie, I love these mini bouquets! They are the perfect gift or “favor” for a lunch or dinner party.
Have a wonderful week~
Thank you Elizabeth! I do love a party favor! Not just for children’s birthday parties!
I love how you put things together. You have such elegant flair! Hope you get that renewed passport soon. I eagerly anticipate your flea market posts and all the goodness you find. Looking forward to a post on your furniture location refresh too. I need to be better about doing that, but things tend to remain in one place forever here at our house.
HI Deanna,
Thank you so much for your kind and generouys words. Creating content for so many years has pushed me into recreating things with the same items…I can’t possibly buy new all the time! It certainly has made me more creative! But when you find the perfect spot for something…sometimes it’s mean to be and stay like that! Nothing worng with that!
Thanks so reading! We just booked out next trip to France!
