Today, for Sunday Favorites with Mary Ann and Cindy, I’m sharing a few snippets of our home at Christmas. This year, for the first time, we used a faux Christmas tree and garland from Terrain.
I didn’t think I would make the switch, but I can say that we are so happy we did. Our tree looks so beautiful, and it comes pre-lit with warm white lights that can be plugged in and turned on with a button.
We used the faux cedar garland all through our house. On the mantel, over the kitchen window, coffee bar, and even above our front door. I love the way it looks, and there’s no mess!
Another favorite from Terrain is the Stargazer lights. They look so beautiful and warm intertwined with the cedar and iron garland.
Holiday Trends We Are Seeing in 2023
Put a bow on it!
I love how everyone is using bows on their trees, garlands, and, of course, packages and wreaths. I added a few to some bottles and champagne glasses. It does make things look festive.
Mushrooms are another popular trend that continues from last year. Of course, Terrain has plenty to choose from, including iron, glass, and velvet.
A Traditional Tree
For the last few years, I have used mostly homemade ornaments that were earthy and all in neutrals. This year, we went with a very traditional look. We used ornaments my kids received yearly from their grandmother since they were tiny. Each year, we add a few more. And this year, I added a few from Terrain that I just couldn’t resist.
It’s not a “designer” tree, but my kids will be thrilled to see their old ornaments. We used this gorgeous tree from Terrain. We love it!

Outfit of the Week
I have a few new cashmere sweaters from Garnet Hill and have been wearing them on repeat since they arrived. I still love these pants from Alex Mill. I’ve been wearing them for over a year. I have them in two colors, and they are part of my “uniform!” They are so comfortable!
Have you gotten a pair of Birkenstock Boston Clogs yet? I love mine! I have a shearling lined pair and these new black suede!

I still love paper bag snowflakes!
Paper bag snowflakes are easy and fun to make. And the best part is that you only need eight bags for each. I made a smaller one for the window above. Our dining room with regular-sized lunch bag paper bag snowflakes was featured in Better Homes & Gardens last year! You can read that post right here!
Michele of Hello Lovely used them to decorate her entire staircase for only $6! You can read her post here.
5 Books I Would Love to Own!
This year, I would be thrilled to find any of these books under the tree. All are new this year! Which ones do you have or want?
