I’m joining Cindy and Mary Ann for our Sunday favorites, and we thought we would each do a gift guide for Father’s Day. And, of course, we have a few more favorite things from the week!
Stan Smith Golf Shoes // Adidas Shoe Bag // Rhone Performance Polo Shirts // Kenyon Electric Grill // Olukai Waterproof Flip Flop // Williams Sonoma Rub Library // Solo Stove Bonfire 2.0 // Tumi Just In Case Duffel
Father’s Day is just two weeks away. I asked my husband for some advice on gifts, and this is what we came up with…I would have to say that the Kenyon Electric Grill makes the top of the list.
We did a post on what we loved about switching to electric…and now that we have made the switch. We will never go back to propane! You can read that post right here and make sure to follow Kenyon Grills here.
Brent is a huge fan of Adidas but has not had a pair of their new Stan Smith Golf Shoes. Rhone clothing is also top on Brent’s list for athletic clothes and his favorite pair of pants. The Commuter Pant is great for golf, every day, and travel.
The Tumi duffel is lightweight and easily folds into another bag. It’s perfect for when we return from traveling and somehow always manage to need quite a bit more space! Great for a weekend or overnight bag, too for short trips!
What is it about twin rooms that we love so much?
Ask any couple if they would rather have one full or twin beds in a guest room as a guest, and I think most would opt for twin beds. Most of us are used to queen-size beds, if not king, so making do with a full-size bed does not make for the best night’s sleep.
We had twin beds in the attic of our previous home. I loved the space, and our guests seemed to enjoy it too! On the third floor, with plenty of privacy. You can read that post here.
A few twin bedrooms caught my eye!

A Few Favorite Twin Beds
Five of the six are from Serena & Lily. I love all of their beds. The upholstered bed can be made in any fabric. I’m not sure why I chose yellow gingham!

Have You Tried Brooklinen®?
I saw a charcoal linen quilt and shams on Brooklinen, and then I saw the charcoal and chambray stripe linen sheets and duvet and decided it was time for a summer refresh. When I opened the box, I could not have been more impressed with how it arrived in its crisp white bag with tie closure. The quality is gorgeous. Easy to order, and every piece I ordered arrived in one box in a few days. I’ll be sharing more on Instagram. Are you following @most_lovely_things?

I always tell people that it’s better in the long run to get a queen size than a full. These are lovely twin examples and you can push them together for a king. The Brooklinen looks great!! Fun gifts for dad…we have some similar ones!

I love the look of twin beds but don’t like sleeping in them. I feel like I’m in my childhood bed and if I roll over I will fall out. Other than for the grands, I would not make a bedroom of twins. If short on bedrooms and need to accommodate friends, perhaps two double beds would fill that need.

Yes, If space allowed, two full-size or even two queen beds would be ideal! Nothing cuter than twins, but no so much for sleeping in as an adult!

Hi Annie
More great Father’s Day ideas! I adore twin beds. We debated about them for this house and are so glad we have them. They are great when you have two people that do not mind bunking together but do not want to sleep together!!
annie diamond says
That’s a good point! I can’t wait to see Summer’s room at your house!

I had to giggle, when I saw your comment about guests enjoying the twin beds in your guest room. We, too, had twin beds in what we referred to as our LucyDesi room. One wife made a request before getting into bed when they visited. Could I give her a broom, so that she could poke her husband when he snored?
annie diamond says
Oh, that’s hilarious! But seriously, wouldn’t you rather have a twin than a full-size bed?? LucyDesi!
Joanna says
I may be on the outside of this debate but I’d rather snuggle in on a double than sleep separate on twins when with my hubby. I guess I love my guy. Now, if bunking with a friend, I’ll take the twin.

I’m with you Annie, I love twin beds and am thinking of taking out the hunk beds in the cabin for two twins. It just works better for guests! I’m sure most couples do not mind having your own bed for a few nights and them you can accommodate friends and family members too.
These are adorable rooms…
Great ideas for Father’s Day!

I meant bunk beds!

Annie, I love all your Father’s Day ideas. I can’t believe it’s just around the corner. Yikes. Speaking of love … twin bedrooms. They’re the most enchanting. I’ve never tried linen sheets and I think it’s time to try! Wishing you an amazing week ahead! xo

A twin bed is 39 inches wide, which is half the width of a king bed. Not sure why people have trouble with that.
Thank you for the names of companies that provide linens without unicorn or train motifs. Much appreciated
