An Early Autumn Tablescape with Terrain & Other Favorites
One of my favorite brands that I get to work with every month is Terrain. For August, I created a fall tablescape using a few new items along with some of my favorites from Terrain that you have no doubt seen me use many times! I thought this would be the perfect thing to share for Sunday favorites with Cindy and Mary Ann.

Start with an idea…
The plaid tablecloth is an earthy green, and the glass pumpkins are a beautiful blue/green, so to tie the colors together, I made a menu card using Canva. I chose colors from the Heirloom Color Story Lights, the tablecloth, and the glass pumpkins.
I use Flyaway sticks to keep the bugs and bees at bay. It does not hurt them, but it does keep them away. I used four or five in this small area, stuck into planters surrounding the pea gravel patio. They make the garden smell so wonderful.

Tie it all together with a menu card.

The menu
Starter
For this simple menu, we made an heirloom and burrata salad. This is the time of year we all wait for…when we have so many ripe tomatoes, we almost don’t know what to do with them. Especially when they all ripen at the same time. If you still have ripe peaches and strawberries, you could make this salad. It’s so gorgeous with all the colors.
Main
For the main course, we made mushroom risotto with Brodo Mushroom Bone Broth. We’ve made it a few times, and I keep thinking we need to share the recipe. It’s so good, and I think a lot of it has to do with the broth! It’s the perfect earthy dish for this autumn dinner.
Dessert
I love serving crème brûlée for dessert because it can be made ahead, and everyone loves it!
Potted plants for a casual centerpiece

I used our collection of Bergs terracotta pots with ornamental cabbage and kale. I used a little preserved moss to cover the soil. Mixed in with the plants, I used tea lights in an assortment of Weck jars and mini glass pumpkins.
It’s early for fall plants, but I was able to find some with dark foliage to mix with the cabbage and kale.
Wood plates, linen napkins in a neutral color, and a mix of cutlery. I love to mix in vintage knives when possible. My go-to for glassware is a mix of Duralex tumblers.
Over-the-Table-Rod
I have used Terrain’s over-the-table-rod in many different ways. I hung jars with flowers, tea lights, and dried hydrangeas tied to a rod or branch, but this time I just used beautiful Color Story bulbs with this light socket strand.
You can see the over-the-table rod in this post, and also in this post, where I made easy glass jar slings for tea lights.
The over-the-table rod is so simple to use. It stores easily in three pieces. You can use a branch instead of the top rod for a more earthy look. It’s such a fun piece to use indoors and out. The video below shows just how easy it is to attach the over-the-table Iron Rod to any table. If you are concerned about the iron rod causing damage, just use some felt pads. I’ve never had a problem, but this would be an easy solution.
Now, a few more Sunday favorites
Sneaker Cleaners
I am the resident sneaker cleaner in our family. And since my kids live in NYC, anytime they are home, and their shoes are left by the door, I can’t help myself…I need to clean them. I use a combination of items depending on what they are made of, but these SneakERASERS are great for a quick cleanup. They are dual-sided and come in a pack of 10, making each one about $1.20. Tip: Do not use these with a fresh manicure! Better yet, use gloves!
ELEMIS Skincare
ELEMIS is a global skincare brand with over 30 years of research and development, and they are a Certified B Corporation!
After years of too much sun, I wouldn’t say my skin is glowing at the age of 63. So when asked by ELEMIS if I wanted to try a few products, I was a little reluctant at first, but then thought, why not try something new? It’s exactly what I needed! The Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm felt incredibly luxurious while I used it, and it left my skin feeling incredibly clean. As you massage the balm over your face and neck, it melts into a cleansing oil. You can also use the same product as a mask, leaving it on for 10 minutes before washing off with a warm cloth.
The next step is the Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Pads. Does anyone remember those Stridex pads we used in high school? Okay, same idea, but 1,000 times better. I hope this mention doesn’t scare anyone away! But they are medicated exfoliating pads, and gentle enough to use daily.
Then use the Pro-Collagen Marine Cream with an SPF30. I did not get the night cream, but I plan to!
The website provides detailed information on all aspects of the product, followed by instructions on how to use it. Each product has simple, clear instructions.
ELEMIS currently has a Friends & Family Sale. Use code: FRIENDS for 25% off your order. Let me know if you’re currently using this product or have tried it. I would love to see if you are as impressed as I am!
That’s all I have on this Sunday in August! Let’s check in with Cindy and Mary Ann!

Hi Noel,
This is just the inspiration I needed to make it again! I think you are going to love the over-the-table rod! I’ve used it with a branch I found instead of the top bar for a more earthy look! Okay, as soon as we get back from our nexty trip…it’s mushroom risotto with Brodo Mushroom Bone Broth!
xo
Agree with others – beautiful table plus a doable menu. Love that you used so many textures on your table and the surrounding glass pumpkins.
Thank you so much Carolina! The menu is so simple, but still feels special enough to serve to company!
Hi Annie
I adore that Terrain tablescape and the menu sounds wonderful. I make an appetizer version of that salad and it is always a big hit?
I’ll be sad when our tomato season is over! You have so much better produce all year long!
