We just returned from a trip to Portugal with our adult children. Where to Stay in Lisbon, Portugal when traveling with your kids or another couple.

We found the hotel through Tablet Hotels. We have had great luck finding hotels using Tablet Hotels, and the hotel in Lisbon was no exception!

We love that Tablet Hotels is a collection of boutique hotels, luxury hotels, 5-star hotels, and apartment-style hotels.

The Visionaire Apartments in Lisbon

We chose The Visionaire Apartments mainly for the apartment-style hotel. Our two-bedroom apartment had spacious rooms and was perfect for our needs.

The apartment had some of the original architecture of the building mixed with modern conveniences like soundproof windows. The windows all had the charm of shutters that could be easily closed for privacy.

The Neighborhood Location

The hotel is very centrally located in the Praça da Figueira. Our apartment looked out over the square with views of the narrow streets on the other side.

The hotel is within walking distance of several neighborhoods you would want to visit. There were many cafes and restaurants in every direction from the hotel.

Public Transportation

The metro station is right outside the front door of the hotel. It’s possible to take the metro with a transfer to the airport. However, an Uber XL was only about €13 from our hotel to the airport.

The trams are easy to find once you start making your way up hills and steps in Lisbon. Make sure to have the exact change. No cards were accepted (that was our experience).

Two Bedroom Apartment

The apartment we stayed in had two large bedrooms (both could either be a king-size bed or made into twin beds). A long hallway with the living room and kitchen in the middle separated the bedrooms.

Bedrooms

The apartment had one primary bedroom with a full bath, and the second full bath was in the hallway.

The layout is perfect for a family traveling with children or two couples. The apartment was quite spacious and comfortable. The sofas in the living room could be made into twin beds if you needed even more.

Living and Dining Area

The apartment has a large table with chairs and a bench. It’s perfect for getting some work done or having a meal. There are many places nearby for takeaway if you want to stay in one night for dinner.

The kitchen is well equipped for a hotel apartment. A small refrigerator, a 2-burner cooktop, an oven, a dishwasher, a coffee maker, and all the dishes, glassware, and tools you would need. The hotel supplied dish soap and dishwasher pods.

Common Areas of the Hotel

The hotel does not have an actual lobby. You enter using a keypad, and the common area, the reception desk, is on the second floor.

The lounge area is beautiful. There are games, books, and several areas to sit.

Other Amenities

The common area has a small room to store your luggage after check out or if you arrive before your room is ready.  There’s also a washer and dryer that guests can use, as well as a restroom.
