What’s New at Terrain + Other Sunday Favorites

Terracotta pots and some white glzed pots and saucers on wood table.

Yesterday I stopped by Terrain for a little garden inspiration and to check out their beautiful new pots from Tuscany, called Galestro. These pots are made in Italy using high-quality, iron rich clay that is found only in Italy. They have glazed pots and suacers as well as the more natural terracotta pots. There may be less expensive imimations, but they will not last for years like these found at Terrain.

Terrain also carries the Bergs pottery that is designed in Denmark, and made in Italy. I’ve had my pots and saucer for years now and use them all year long both indoors and outdoors. I guess you could say I collect them. I love using them at the holidays for paper whites. In the summer, geraniums.

I did buy one plant. A black petunia! In my little garden I use plants like the silvery green Dusty Miller, Coral Bells in deep dark burgundy, wild sage, rosemary and of course black petunias.

Two outfits of the week

A 2-piece denim suit from Ann Taylor for less than $200.

This week I happened to see a two-piece denim suit from Ann Taylor. I don’t buy a lot from Ann Taylor, but when I saw this simple suit, I just had to order it. What I love about Ann Taylor is the consistent true-to-size fit. I ordered a size 10 and both the pants and jacket fit perfectly. It runs long, but does come in petite. It’s more of a denim “look” than actual denim. Perfect for travel. I don’t often have the need for a suit, but with my book launch next year, I think that might change, and I think this could be the perfect look. And, it’s on major sale!

I’m wearing it with a silk bandana, my brown Gucci loafers and a Sézane basket bag. The stitching in the suit is brown, but it coud be worn with black too, It’s subtle.

A poplin shirt and Aritzia/Sperry boat shoes

I am most comfortbale in worn in jeans like my favorites from Alex Mill and a poplin shirt. Poplin stays looking fresh, dries quickly in case you are caught in the rain, and perfect for travel. The bandana shirt from Madewell comes in several colors, prints, and stripes.

I lived in Sprerry Boat Shoes in college. I think back then we called them topsiders. Now Aritizia is doing a collab with Sperry. They have several color options and they have half sizes, which is what sold me! I’m a 10.5 and a lot of shoe brands stop half sizes after size 10. They are super comfortable, and light weight.

Loving my summer bag from Sézane and this simple cord charm necklace from Roxanne Assoulin. I chose a brown cord and a black heart, so if goes with everything!
