After a little Spring cleaning I could not wait to freshen up with some new house plants. While out picking up a few things and searching for some branches I somehow ended up with a flat of pansies and four bunches of pussy willows. My idea was to plant these in my front porch pots. What was I thinking? Everything is still frozen. The dogwood branches I put in my pots with moss for the holidays is frozen solid. This should not be a surprise, but this is what happens when you live in California too long. You see Spring plants and you bring them home and think that the first 50 degree day is Spring. Since that’s not the case, I’ll be enjoying them around the house for a while. I put four pots of pansies in the tool caddy I found at the New Canaan Transfer Station last fall and the rest are in pots throughout the house. It’s starting to look a little like Spring?

A little touch of green always makes me thing spring is around the corner! Lovely pictures, as always.

I completely understand your impulse pansy purchase. I am guilty of it every year. I love pansies. Blue are my personal favorite. You will enjoy them so much inside while it is still too cold outside for them. We are just beginning to thaw out in the Midwest this weekend!

I totally did the same thing. Being from California really hasn’t taught me much about this whole seasonal gardening thing (we just moved to North Carolina). I was so sad when everything lost their leaves (and began to look dead). Now I’m eager to get this spring show on the road! Bring on the flowers!
