How to Shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2025

Here’s how I shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale – even if you are not a fan of shopping sales, the Nordstom Anniversary Sale is the one sale I never miss. Nordstrom has the best deals for the upcoming season. Nordstrom customers know this annual sale is not like any other. It is Nordstrom’s biggest sale of the year, and I don’t think it’s overhyped! 

I’m joining Mary Ann and Cindy today, so I cannot wait to see their picks and what they think of the Nordstrom sale this year! It should be interesting to compare! Let’s get started, but first, why is the anniversary sale a big deal?

How is the Nordstrom anniversary sale different from other sales?

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale occurs once a year (hence the name), and it’s the best way to get new fall and winter merchandise at a discounted price. Once the sale ends, prices for the same new items increase. 

I’ve never been a fan of picking through last season’s sale items in search of my size. Sure, there are many great deals to find at sales throughout the year if you are fortunate with timing. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale offers the best selection of fall and winter items, including must-have items (things you stock up on yearly), favorite brands, beauty products, Christmas gifts, and more. 

Back to School Shopping

When my kids were young, we would arrive early on the first day of the sale to secure the best selection. My heart still flutters a little when I see the “back-to-school” section on the website. We did all of the back-to-school shopping for clothing, shoes, winter coats, and jackets (North Face fleece jackets)…remember how popular those were? I loved getting good deals on all the items we would buy at full price anyway.

The best strategy for shopping the sale before things sell out

• Ensure you have a Nordstrom credit card for exclusive perks, including early access from July 8 to July 11. The general public has access beginning July 12, but anyone can preview the sale online and create a wish list.
• Nordstrom cardholders have free shipping and free returns.
• The first thing I do is look through your closet to see what may need replacing or updating.
• Make a wish list of items you want or need to replace, such as a new pair of loafers, boots, jeans, underwear, bras, or other wardrobe staples.
• Look for the brands you love first. (I look for Rails, Rag & Bone, and Frank & Eileen)
• Shop on the first day of the sale to ensure you get your favorite items.
• Check for beauty exclusives. This is often how I find some of my all-time favorites. A few years ago, I purchased the Anastasia Brow Kit, and I am so happy it’s back again. It’s the perfect time to try new beauty products and stock up on must-have items like Donna Karan Cashmere Mist Deodorant.
• I plan to shop online to access the most popular items before they sell out, but I always visit my local Nordstrom store! As much as I love online shopping, nothing compares to in-store try-ons, coffee, and lunch at the cafe with a friend at the Nordstrom sale!  My local store is only two miles away!

Adidas sneakers have been my go-to sneaker for casual wear for the last few years. They are incredibly comfortable right from the start. Great for travel, and every day. When in Paris, we often walk 20-25K steps per day, and Adidas are the shoes I wear! You can read more about my love of Adidas in this post!

Croxdale Waxed Cotton Jacket from Barbour – The Sezane short trench, known as Bobby, sold out immediately (it’s back in stock), and I suspect this style from Barbour will as well! It’s such a fun, updated style from a traditional brand like Barbour. The price is $279.99 for the anniversary sale, but it will then go to $425.

I am a huge fan of the VOLO hair towels. It cuts down on drying time. I can no longer travel without one. This set comes with two scrunchies (available with online orders only). Opalex shampoo and conditioner is a game changer in making your look and feel healthy.

Our entire family loves Le Labo. I buy a few of these Discovery Sets to give as gifts, and keep one. The small bottles are great to keep in your purse and for travel. Speaking of travel, the Le Labo Travel Set would make a lovely gift.

Hydro Flask 32-ounce Water Bottle – Every few years, I need to replace my travel water bottle. Hydroflask is my number one choice! It keeps water cold, and the handleless bottle helps when your hands are full.

Putting Together Outfits with Cardigans

I love cardigan sweaters! A cardigan makes any pair of jeans and a tee into an outfit. The Rag & Bone Slub Tees are not part of the Nordstrom sale, but they are the best t-shirts. They last for years, hold their shape, and hardly shrink even when accidentally tossed into the dryer. So, even at the price of $90, I would say they are worth it if you consider the cost per wear. You will get a lot of wear even after they have faded.
