Fashionable women are (still) wearing Sambas in Paris, and I could not be happier! The popularity of wearing flats is everywhere and nowhere more apparent than on the streets of Paris. I was expecting to see Mary Janes and ballet flats, but the shoe that fashionable women were wearing all over Paris was the Adidas Sambas. This is not new news; they’ve been wearing them for over a year, but they continue to wear them. And mainly in the traditional white with black, and black with white!
Back with Sunday favorites with Cindy and Mary Ann, and as I thought about my favorites this week, I decided to include the items I love most while we are in France.
I’ve been raving about wearing Adidas Samba sneakers for over a year now, and I’m not stopping anytime soon after seeing them all over Paris. They became the “it” shoe last year, and maybe because of comfort and the overall sleek look that goes with almost every outfit, they are still as popular as ever! White with black stripes was mostly what I saw, but black with white stripes is popular too!
The Adidas Originals, or the OG, as you will see on their website, have been around since 1949 and were worn by soccer players.
I’ve loved them for years, but much like many of my shoe preferences, only in recent years have they been fashionable. Since I’m tall, I always wear flats: loafers, oxfords, and tennis shoes. Last year, I wore Veja sneakers; this year, it’s been all about the Adidas Sambas or the Gazelles that also come in several colorways.
They look great with my preferred menswear look or style, but I also love them with midi skirts and dresses.
I was thrilled to see fashionable women, girls, and even kids wearing them all over Paris last week. It will be interesting to see if they are seen during Paris Fashion Week! From what I could tell from my brief observations, it was mainly Parisians wearing Adidas. The tourists seemed to favor the Veja sneaker.
What other trendy shoe that’s so comfortable cost only $100? Do you have a pair, or are you thinking about buying a pair for fall? They only sell men’s sizes, but the conversion chart is helpful, and they run true to size!
I highly recommend the protective shoe spray, even for the gray suede around the toe, if you buy a pair. I got caught in a torrential downpour in Paris and thought for sure my shoes would show the dirt from the rainy streets, but because I sprayed them right before we left, they still look like new!
Clutch Charger
I’ve mentioned Clutch Charges before, but on this trip, I have used it almost every day. Constantly using maps and other apps causes my battery to drain, and when I’m out on long days, I always carry my Clutch charger with me. I can attach my phone to it, and it’s like adding a credit card to the back of your phone that’s connected. (It’s thicker than a credit card, but you get the idea). It charges my phone fast, and I can still use it while it’s charging. I am so impressed with them that I’m ordering them for my kids. Use the code ANNIE37890 for a 10% discount. Silk Pajamas from Quince
I love silk pajamas from Quince. Everything I have from Quince has been fantastic and priced so well, but the silk pajamas might be my favorite. I give them a 10 out of 10! They can be washed (by machine or by hand) and hung dry. They dry quickly, and they feel so good! They take up no room and add no weight to your luggage, which is why I love them for travel. But I must warn you, once you start wearing them, you’ll want to order another pair because you’ll want to wear them every night!
They have silk pajama bottoms, tanks, tee, and a silk pajama button-up top. They come in several colors so that you can wear all one color or mix and match.
Have you signed up to receive emails from MLT?
This is the best way to get updates from Shop Most Lovely Things, re-opening early October with fresh finds from France.

QQ….have you had any difficulty with the Clutch charger not always sticking to your phone? Or coming off in your handbag or tote?
Thanks.
D.

Hi Dee, I’m not sure what you mean sticking to the phone…I plug it in and hold it together. Is it supposed to stick? I’m just so glad I have it one this trip. I use it everyday, we are out for so long and I’m always using maps which I thinks drains the battery faster!

Hi Annie,
Are the Quince pajama bottoms have an elastic waste band and a draw string?
annie diamond says
Hi Katherine, They are elastic waste, but no drawstring…I had to double check! I love them!

Hi Annie,
Do you wear no-show socks with the Sambas? If so, do you mind sharing which ones?
Thank you!
