A while back I saw this on Pinterest from The Marion House Book. I knew immediately that this was a perfect solution to organizing and displaying my son’s “stuff”. The first thing I did was start collecting crates from flea markets. I love going to flea markets, but I find it even more fun when I have something in particular that I’m searching for. It did not take long before I had enough crates. I studied the photo from Pinterest and knew that, aside from the black walls which I already loved was that they had used a little white to break up the dark from the wood crates and the black wall.
Total cost of the project was just under $100. The crates ranged from $5 to $25 and the small white cube shelf from The Container Store was less than $20. Everything else was packed up from his California room. I marked the box “Patrick’s display wall” and it took us about 10 minutes to unpack and find a place for everything. If only every project was that easy.

I saw an awesome crate I can’t stop thinking about. In black it had the word “HUNT” on an end of the crate. I love this display, especially the baseballs. Those crates look like they were made for them.

What a great idea for a boys’ room and would love to see how we could come up with a display concept for rowing medals! Right now they’re hanging off the foot of the bed!

And your son’s stuff looks so super-cool – not sure this would work for old bits of Lego and broken Barbies!!!

What size crates did you use for the baseballs? I’ve seen the coke ones and thought they were too small. Thanks
