Create Gift Wrap Using Personalized Photo Stickers

Part one in a series on holiday gift wrap

My take on gift wrap often uses the simplest kind of paper found in the paint department of the hardware store, baubles from your Christmas box, diy frayed canvas ribbons, and everyday twine. Today’s post is part one in a series.

First, choose a photo

Find a photo that you love and make custom stickers to use on gift wrap. It’s a simple idea, but using a photo and turning it into a sticker takes any gift wrap to the next level. It’s creative and can even be a little nostalgic. Consider using an old Christmas photo or a photo of a Santa Claus visit. Or something entirely different. Of course, it does not even need to be a Christmas or holiday photo.

The photo I chose was one from a Christmas card when my kids were little. I think about ages six and two. It was snowing, and I took them outside to get photos, and of course, the first thing they did was catch snowflakes on their tongues. It was so sweet…and still my most favorite photo! And now, I can relive this moment with custom stickers on gift bags, packages, and envelopes.

A friend said she was going to order stickers for her twin daughter’s birthday party goody bags. Endless possibilities.

I often use regular lunch bags and Kraft paper to wrap packages, any time of the year. Large stickers to seal the bags are the perfect thing. Or use on an envelope, a package, or a shipping box.

There are many companies you can use to order custom stickers. I used 360onlineprint.

Ideas for using bags with stickers for the holidays.

Every year, I give my neighbors a small gift that I drop off during the holidays on everyone’s porch—just a little something. Last year, I made small paperwhite kits. This year, I plan to give small bottles of homemade vanilla and maybe some cookies or homemade granola (made with the vanilla). These little bags will be perfect for holding a sealed bag of homemade granola and a small bottle of vanilla.

Dress up your holiday cards with stickers.

Use a sticker on your Christmas card envelopes. A hand-addressed card is rare these days. One with a sticker, even more so!
