One of my favorite things about working part-time at Serena & Lily in Westport is the people I get to meet, including our lovely customers, my co-workers, and artists like Barbara Erdmann. Yesterday I had the chance to sit down with Barbara at her beautiful home on the water in Norwalk, CT.

Barbara Erdmann’s Photography shown at Serena & Lily Westport Design Shop
Barbara’s photography is featured at the beautiful Serena & Lily store in Westport. Since the shop itself is a home, it showcases her work beautifully and makes it easy to imagine what a piece might look like in your own home. The images the company chose for the store include subjects like water, sand, waves, boats, rope and shells. Sometimes the waves or sand is so focused that it appears abstract.
Barbara says her photography started as a hobby, mostly taking photos of her three boys, which led to taking photos of other people’s children. As her children got older and they traveled the world, Barbara always had her camera with her. The camera got better and the lens got bigger. Her family of active boys led her to some beautiful places where she could take photographs while they hunted or fished. She realized she had a good eye and was constantly looking for textures, repetition, and reflection, mostly in nature. Her hobby became her passion which also included fulfilling her philanthropic dreams. Through her photography sales, Barbara’s donations helps support the children of her community in Norwalk, CT.
