A visit to the shop at the lost kitchen
The day we arrived for a visit to the shop at the lost kitchen, it was just before 11 am opening time. I naively thought I would have the place to myself to take some photos. There were already several people milling about the yard between the shop door and the Airstream.
It was already quite warm, but the trees gave just enough shade to keep cool while we waited to enter.

When the doors opened, I couldn’t wait to get inside and look and touch everything. Every item in the shop is beautiful but purposeful. I love beautiful things that are also everyday items that we need and use. They may be a little more expensive, but they will last many years. I love that saying, “Buy less, but better.”
The shop at The Lost Kitchen is filled with handmade and well-made items that will last generations.
Let’s look inside the shop at the lost kitchen in Freedom, Maine.

Baskets, ceramics, flower pot lamps, copper colanders, and Riess Enamelware

Beautiful linens and Danica Candles hand-dipped in Maine

Kitchen tools, ceramics, and enamelware

A SMEG Refrigerator, coffee, soda, and Erin’s Memoir, Finding Freedom

Everything you could hope for in a picnic is right here in the cooler!

Little copper cups and zinnias in a small bottle

Every detail of the Shop at The Lost Kitchen is lovely. These little copper cups are on a tray with a small bottle holding two zinnias picked from the garden just outside the shop. It really is all about the little things, isn’t it? I would much prefer small bottles and cups of garden flowers over any store-bought flowers! That’s why I love summer so much! Erin’s shop is as delightful as you would imagine if you had read her memoir or cookbook. Or if you’ve seen her show, now in its third season on Discovery+.
I hope you enjoyed this little tour and that perhaps you’ll get the chance to visit in person. Make sure to check out this post on where to stay nearby and this post on when we had the chance to stay overnight in the Lost Kitchen Cabins!

Where to Stay: Freedom is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. We found a lovely Airbnb about 30 minutes away on a blueberry farm. You can read more here.
I hope you get the chance to visit the shop!
I think what I love most is that it’s all very thoughtfully curated. Much like the shop we visited in London, Labour and Wait. You can read that post here.
Or the shop Plain Goods, which is closer to home in New Preston, CT. You can read that here.
And speaking of shops…make sure to visit:

Seriously, the Pabst beer commercials covering all of your photos immediately? Will NOT be clicking on your link anymore from my fave blogs!
Susan! I’m so sorry! I will look into it. That should not be happening! Thank you for taking the time to leave a note to let me know!
