A Visit to the New Garnet Hill Store at Legacy Place

For Sunday favorites with Cindy and Mary Ann today, I’m sharing a few of my favorites from my visit to Garnet Hill at the Legacy Place Mall outside of Boston in Dedham, MA. I’ve been a fan of Garnet Hill for years and have only shopped from their beautiful catalogs (as shown below) and online. I could see and touch everything in person at their beautiful new store this week.

What has always drawn me to Garnet Hill are the fabrics. It’s a cornerstone of everything they do. Since its founding, the company has primarily been a mail order and, later, an e-commerce company, which intrigued me to visit their new store. In addition to the outlet store, which is located at the headquarters in New Hampshire, their new store at Legacy Place is their only brick-and-mortar store.

They believe in natural fibers as the foundation of everything they design. And there’s an interesting story behind how they got started. Back in the 1970s, the founders were on a camping trip through Europe, and to keep warm at night, they purchased some high-quality cotton flannel sheets in England. When they returned to the U.S. from their trip, they began looking for the same high-quality cotton flannel sheets and couldn’t find them anywhere. The idea was born, and they started Garnet Hill from their small house in a mountain town in New Hampshire.

Fabrics are still the main focus of everything they design. All their fabric and fibers are natural, eco-friendly, and sustainably sourced.

Asian Wrap Organic Pajamas

When I told Mary Ann I was going to the Garnet Hill store, she said she loved their pajamas and had worn them for years. The wrap style comes in both long and short-sleeved tops.

Leather Bags, belts & Sandals

They have several beautiful bags and totes. I have the Alba Everyday Tote and have enjoyed using it for a few years. I love that it has a big pocket on the outside and a zipper pocket on the inside.

Cotton Sweaters & Cashmere Sweaters

Washable Cashmere Sweaters

I have a few of Garnet Hill’s cashmere sweaters. I love that they have five styles and come in seven colors. And they are washable! I don’t wash mine often. Instead, I air my sweaters after every wear in the cold winter air outside. I usually leave my sweaters outside on a hook for at least 30 minutes. The crisp air is all your wool sweaters need to refresh them. Washing them less will make them last longer.

TENCEL™ & Linen Pleated Trousers with a Cashmere Polo Sweater

I love the idea of dressing all in one color in any season. These beautiful TENCEL™ & linen pleated trousers feel amazing. I can see wearing them with silk, linen, and cashmere, like this gorgeous polo-style cashmere sweater in oat heather.

The loafers are so comfortable. I wore them for the first time, and without socks. At the end of a long day, they were still so comfortable. I love a shoe that doesn’t need to be broken in!

In the Dressing Room at Garnet Hill

The dressing room is beautiful, too. They used quilts as curtains, rugs, pillows, and upholstered poufs from their Home Collection. The dressing rooms were comfortable and well-lit, with a three-way mirror just outside the dressing rooms.
