A Visit To Nickey Kehoe Design Studio & Shop NYC
Today, for Sunday favorites with Mary Ann and Cindy, I thought I would share a visit to a beautiful shop and design studio in New York City. Walking into Nikki Kehoe feels like discovering a world where restraint meets romance. Every detail—whether it’s a potted plant with wood chips covering the soil, or art hung in a window—tells a story of quiet luxury. It’s simplicity with just enough intrigue to make you take a closer look.

In the Garden

Whether you’re enjoying the charm of the West Village or the golden light of Los Angeles, Nickey Kehoe carries the same sense of beauty—never too much, never too little.
Garden & utility ––buy quality and you’ll only buy once

Bergs pottery that I love, garden clogs, snips, beautifully braided welcome mats, and utensil jars all caught my eye. Well-made to last, and some items, like these rustic towel bars, are very reasonably priced. These large forged iron nails are perfect for hanging art or various other purposes.
Candles, Incense, Pillows, and Fabrics

A beautiful vintage brass and glass display case holds boxes of incense and Trudon candles handmade in Normandy. Gorgeous fabrics and pillows. I always love a cafe curtain.

You know you are someplace special as soon as you get sight of the brownstone at 49 West Fourth Street in the West Village. Potted plants line the steps in every season. I almost can’t wait to see it in the fall and at Christmas. Thomas Little and his team also design the plants and urban gardens at La Mercerie at RW Guild, Le Coucou, 9 Orchard, and Chelsea Market, to name a few.
If you have the opportunity in New York or Los Angeles to stop in, Nikki Kehoe isn’t just a shop—it’s an experience. You might walk in for a candle, but you’ll leave with inspiration for an entire room.

Warby Parker
Have you tried Warby Parker eyeglasses or sunglasses recently? My husband and I both had eye exams at our local Warby Parker and then chose our glasses with progressive lenses. I have to say that we had the best experience! We are both thrilled with our glasses, and the service we received was excellent!
Warby Parker offers a wide range of styles, and their staff is invaluable and knowledgeable.
I am very picky (I think most people are when it comes to eyeglasses) and have been reluctant to change, but when I received my glasses in the mail a week later, I put them on and they were perfect! They take their time measuring the line when you have progressives, and both my husband and I have had eyeglasses that are slightly off. These, however, were done well.
I love that there are so many Warby Parker stores, so that if the frames need adjusting, I can pop in and they can take care of it on the spot. If your new glasses get scratched within the first six months, they will be replaced for free.
I chose the Putnam frame in striped teak. I have my eye on the Tal in rosemary crystal matte for a new pair of sunglasses.
Leopard Print Sambas
If you’ve been reading my blog for any time at all, you know how much I rave about the comfort and style of Sambas OG sneakers. You can read more in this post and this one. Aren’t these cute for fall?
Outfit of the Week

Kule Modern Long in Coffee/Cream Pinstripe // Warby Parker Eyeglasses // Eileen Fisher Cotton Twill Cargo Pant // Coach Brooklyn Shoulder Bag // Roxanne Assoulin Puffy Heart Necklace // Adidas Sambas Leopard with Orange Laces
I love a striped top, and this one from Kule is perfect with denim, white, khaki or just about anything you can think of. I have been wearing these Cotton Cargo Pants from Eileen Fisher with everything. I saw an Instagram featuring Anne Hathaway with a Coach bag describing it as quiet luxury….Coach has always been a favorite of mine for years. It’s fun to see everyone talking about it again!
Dear New York, I love You, book, and Prints!
My friend Ria Sim, artist and illustrator of the new book Dear New York, I Love You, is now selling prints of her charming New York illustrations! You can find her selling them on a street corner in the West Village during her Art Pop Up events, or you can order directly from Ria by sending her a DM on her Instagram account, @coffeecakescafe.
Ria will be doing an author talk at Strand Books with Brandon Stanton of Humans of New York on August 27th. Last time I checked, tickets are available.
Let’s see what Cindy & Mary Ann found this week!

I always try to make a visit to Nickey Kehoe in L.A. when I am visiting Alie. So inspirational. I love how she mixes vintage with new and great fabrics. I wish we had a store like that here. So nice to know you can buy online…thanks for that, Annie.
Love your outfit of the week, too.
I thought of you as I was walking through the shop knowing that you have been to the LA studio! I imagine the LA shop is gorgeous too!
I am drooling over Nicky Kehoe-love his style! You are so fortunate to have so many shops to explore! Those leopard sambas are pretty cute-wish I could wear them-my bunion doesn’t approve!
You have so many beautiful shops in your area too!
Annie-
Such a great post!! You covered every topic!
I love all of your recipes & will see what we can do to make some of them (especially the Dalgona Coffee as a Topping for Ice Cream)!
Always inspiring!
Lovely post Annie thank you! I love Nicky Kehoe style but its’ all too expensive for me. Everything I like is beyond reach, so for me it’s definitely a place for ideas only. Lovely outfits thanks for the inspiration. have a wonderful week.
Hi Francesca,
I didn’t buy anything…but sure wanted to! They have a few things (like the brass towel bars) that are very well priced. Lots of inspiration!
