New Bedding from Quince

Bed, picture ledges wth black and white photos in frames, Knoll Barcelona chair. painting on wall, and a sconce.

I have talked a lot about how much I love the brand Quince for everything from cashmere sweaters to luggage and so much more. Today, for Sunday Favorites with Cindy and Mary Ann, I am sharing how I updated our bedding with Quince, starting with bed basics!

Bed Basics with Quince

Starting with new pillows. According to the experts, you should replace your pillows every 1 to 3 years, depending on the type and quality. Martha Stewart says you should replace them every year. I think it has probably been a little longer than three years, so I was very insistent that I start with new pillows. Quince has premium down pillows in soft, medium, and firm. I ordered one of each, and then we tested them out and made our decision on the rest.

Pillow Protectors

This is one of those things that you probably do if you grew up using pillow protectors. They are very inexpensive and help protect your pillows, so maybe you don’t have to replace them every year, as Martha suggests. I buy my100% cotton pillow protectors from The Company Store.

Duvet

We ordered this Luxe Goose Down Comforter for all seasons. They also have heavy and lightweight comforters.

Sheets, Shams, Quilt

The fun part is choosing sheets, a duvet cover, shams, and a quilt. I love to mix and match. I’m not too worried if things match exactly. In fact, I prefer if the bedding does not match perfectly. Quince has beautiful bedding, and the price is amazing!

  1. Premium Down Pillows // 2. Precale Gingham Pillow Cases // 3. Candle // 4. Velvet Pillow // 5. Cotton Velvet Lumbar Pillow // 6. Cotton Jacquard Pillow Shams // 7. Linen Pillow Cases // 8. Linen Gingham Duvet Cover // 9. Upholstered Bed // 10.Hand-Stitched Quilt // 11. Brass Wall Sconce // 12. Rattan Table Lamp

With all the new bedding, of course, I had to update the gallery wall. I use a lot of art from our shop, so when it sells, I need to switch things around. This time, it’s only the painting with the yellow flowers that is from Shop Most Lovely Things. The first thing I do is lay it out on the floor. Then I attempted to make one hole per piece of art, but I can tell you that is not the case. For every piece of art on my wall, I must have at least three holes! I’m the worst at this! No one would ever ask me to help them hang a gallery wall, that’s for sure!

The small piece is a color palette from an artist in the UK. She sells the handmade cards to show her color palettes for her beautiful painted lamp shades. You can follow Libby on Instagram or check out her art at Atelier Elizabeth Rose.

ThredUp

ThredUp is an online resale site, but I’m not using it to shop—I’m using it to clear out what I no longer wear. You send everything in, and they handle the rest, which makes it an easy way to give pieces a second life without the work of selling them yourself.

How it works

  • You order a “Clean Out Kit.”
  • Fill it with clothes you no longer want
  • Send it back (they handle everything after that)
  • They sort, photograph, price, and list your items
  • If something sells, you get a small payout or credit

What makes it different

Unlike platforms like Poshmark or eBay, you don’t list or manage anything yourself. You don’t have to communicate with buyers or worry about shipping when an item sells. It’s very hands-off—more like dropping off a bag at a consignment shop, just done online.

The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning

The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning: How to Free Yourself and Your Family from a Lifetime of Clutter – A friend of mine told me about this book a few years ago. I must not have been ready at the time, because I didn’t give it a second thought. Now that I am clearing out every room and space in our house, it is very much of interest to me. Have you read it?

A Denim Shirt I wear on Repeat

As I clear out closets, I am noticing the items I reach for again and again. Like this denim shirt that I can wear with anything. I just ordered it in white cotton Oxford.

Let’s see what Cindy and Mary Ann found this week!

  1. The timing of ThredUp info is perfect as I am in the middle of a big closet clean out. I have some things listed on Poshmark but it often takes forever to sell, if it sells at all. Thus, it’s still hanging in my closet. Hope you’ll let us know if you are satisfied with the experience. Thank you for the suggestion.
Quince sheets are on my radar!
