A Simple Holiday Gift Box Idea Inspired by the Dove Holiday Treats Peppermint Bark Collection

I’m using the Dove Peppermint Bark Collection as the inspiration for a quick but thoughtful holiday gift. These welcome boxes are easy to pull together and feel instantly festive. The scent is warm, nostalgic, and perfect for the season. Paired with soft pajamas and a little package of treats, the boxes make a sweet surprise for anyone arriving home for the holidays.

Why I love making holiday welcome boxes

One of the best parts of the holiday season, at least for me, is preparing the house for when my girls come home. Now that they’re young adults with busy lives and full schedules, any time we get together feels extra special. Creating welcome boxes has become a small tradition that makes their homecoming feel warm and cozy from the moment they walk through the door.

The boxes don’t have to be elaborate. A few thoughtful items, a comforting scent, and something sweet are all it takes. It’s simply a way to say: we’re so happy you’re home. If you don’t have any boxes, this concept also works great as stuffers for their favorite Christmas stocking.

The inspiration: Dove Peppermint Bark Collection

This year’s boxes were inspired entirely by the Dove Peppermint Bark Collection, and it’s available at Walmart. The scent is exactly what you’d hope for in something called “peppermint bark” — cool peppermint, a hint of chocolate, and a warm holiday sweetness that fills the whole room. It’s festive, but not overpowering.

The collection includes a body scrub, a hand wash, and a body wash. They make everyday routines feel a little more seasonal, which is especially nice after a train ride home or a day spent outside in the cold. It was the perfect anchor for the holiday boxes and set the tone for everything else I included.

What I included in each box or stocking

Each welcome box had the same basics, with a few small differences depending on the girl it was for. Here’s what I tucked inside:

How to assemble the boxes

To keep things simple, I started with white cardboard boxes, but Christmas stockings or baskets work just as well. I added some paper shred in the bottom of each box, which helps the products sit upright and look more intentional.

I placed the pajamas at the back, rolled and tied with red ribbon so they peek out over the top. Then I nestled the Dove products in front, followed by the small package of chocolate peppermint bark and a few candy canes.

If you’re leaving the boxes on a bed, adding a handwritten note makes the moment even sweeter.

Ideas for personalizing each box

You can keep these completely the same or tailor them to each recipient. A few easy ideas:
