DIY Twig Votive Holders + Thanksgiving Table

|

Happy Sunday! I’m joining my friends Mary Ann and Cindy for Sunday Favorites as always. Can you believe Thanksgiving is just four weeks and four days away? If you’re already thinking about menus, guest lists, and who’s bringing the pies, we have something to help.

Some of you may already have our Thanksgiving planning book if you’ve been following along for a while. If you don’t, we’re giving it away again for free to anyone who subscribes. It has everything you need to stay organized, from the first grocery list to the last slice of pie.

And there’s more! For the next couple of weeks, we’ll be sharing all our favorite Thanksgiving recipes here. The timing couldn’t be better, because we’re preparing for a week-long photo shoot for our cookbook, surrounded by beautiful food from morning to night. It only felt right to bring some of that kitchen joy to you, too.

Today I’m sharing a rustic-inspired table to kick off the Thanksgiving season. You may have seen the twig votives I made from hydrangea branches on Instagram.

I used hydrangeas from the garden

Instead of buying fresh flowers, I gathered hydrangeas straight from the garden. This time of year, they turn the most beautiful shades of blush pink and soft green, and I couldn’t resist bringing them inside. Together, the twigs and blooms give the table a simple, natural warmth that feels just right as we head into the next few weeks of Thanksgiving inspiration.

The supplies you’ll need for making DIY twig votives:

How to make them:

Cut twigs about the height of the votive. Wrap a rubber band around the votive, then slip the twigs under the band until it’s completely covered. Add some jute twine to cover the band. The clear glass votives are from Pottery Barn.

Make sure you are on the email list to get access to the Thanksgiving Planner.

Let’s see what Mary Ann and Cindy found this week!
