12 Days of Holiday Homes
Today is the beginning of the 12 Days of Holiday Homes hosted by Amy & Christy of 11 Magnolia Lane and Jenny of Evolution of Style. Twenty-four bloggers are sharing their homes over the next 12 days. I’m at the end of the tour, but wanted to give a shout out to the girls that put it all together and to Lynch Creek Farm for sponsoring again this year!
Todays tour starts off with Amanda of Sincerely, Marie Designs I love her foyer and her holiday kitchen! You can see more here.
Amanda of Dixie Delights is also sharing her home today! You can seem more of her beautiful Southern home here.
Make House Shaped Holiday Gift Tags
Holidays are all about home so it made perfect sense that the Hearth & Hand with Magnolia Collection at Target carried the simple design of a house on everything from lanterns, dish towels to cookie cutters in the shape of houses.
To make gift tags or ornaments I used the cookie cutter as a simple pattern to make folk-art inspired house tags from different shades of denim. You can use old jeans or fabric pieces. Denim comes in so many different hues. I used three different colors of denim and bright red embroidery thread to make x’s.
I simply cut the house shape and small squares and rectangles for windows and doors. I made several “x” marks in red on a piece of denim and then cut them into squares using a good pair of sewing scissors. I attached the small pieces with glue. I made a hole at the top using an embroidery needle to insert a piece of wire to tie on a package or hang on the tree. Since I have more than one tree this year, I think I’ll have one that’s all houses!
These would be so cute if they were stuffed and sewn together with red thread, but of course by now you know I do not sew. Not even a straight line. I wish I did!
This year I’m baking for neighbor gifts and obviously these little house tags will adorn each package! Happy first day of December!
