A Visit to Sézane in San Francisco

|

Last week, Mary Ann, Cindy, and I gathered in San Francisco with five other creators/bloggers to share ideas and have some fun. It was an incredible few days filled with learning, delicious food, champagne, and we even spent a morning at Sézane on Fillmore Street! I thought this would be the perfect Sunday Favorites post! Keep reading for a chance to win a Sézane Feu de Vie Candle and a tote bag!

L’Appartement San Francisco

Noelani (right) of La Vie on Grande organized a private shopping experience with Sézane, as she does for her Paris retreats. Sézane opened its doors just for us, allowing us to relax, enjoy some delightful French pastries, and shop!

If you’ve never been to a Sézane store, it truly is one of my favorite places to shop. Not only for the beautiful clothes, bags, accessories, and shoes, but also for the store’s stunning atmosphere. Some locations are called Appartements, designed like a dreamy Parisian home. The staff is warm and welcoming, and I’m lucky to have two locations in the city: one in Nolita on Elizabeth Street and a new location in Brooklyn.

Some of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe are from Sézane. A few classic items I wear on repeat include:

Sézane has several shops across the United States, and they’re even turning an Airstream trailer into a mobile store to travel across the country—so there’s a chance it might come to a city near you!

Will Jackets

The Will Jacket is similar to a chore coat, with big patch pockets, buttons down the front, and a seam running down the middle of the back. I bought my first Will jacket in Paris years ago and still wear it often. They also offer seasonal versions, like a beautiful, lightweight black leather Will Jacket that feels like butter. You’ll find suede and wool options for fall and winter, along with a current open-work jacket with embroidery. They often have matching pants or shorts, making it a complete suit.

Sézane Trench Coats

You see Clyde Coat everywhere. I think Sézane may be responsible for extending the trench coat season from being mostly worn in spring to year-round. You see them in fall and even winter now with a Uniqlo thin puffer jacket layered under it. They are available in colors, and this plaid version.

Sweaters – Knitwear

Sézane offers the dreamiest knitwear. Every store showcases a gorgeous sweater wall, and the staff is always available to help you find the right size, style, and color. My favorites include:

Bags

Another signature piece from Sézane is their beautiful Justine bag, featuring a practical drawstring pouch inside to keep your valuables safe in crowded spaces. I love the two-length handles—regular and shoulder.

Chlo Shirt

I picked up this shirt in black and wore it out to dinner the same night with dark jeans and a J.Crew high-neck tank underneath. I think it will be a great travel piece to wear with white jeans, black linen trousers, or open like a jacket with a midi or maxi skirt.

  16. Dear Annie,

It’s way past your bed time. However, I’m just now able to enjoy your blog after a delightful Easter gathering which included a dear niece and family visiting from Jersey City. King Salmon, dessert on the patio, and a spontaneous ride on the new light rail link from Mercer Island across Lake Washington to Seattle and back was great entertainment for three generations. The link is the first floating light rail in the world. On a sunny day like today, Mt. Rainier to the south and Mt Baker to the north are visible in all their glory.

You have always inspired me with your Sezane choices; their sustainability and the ways you wear them so beautifully, . In fact, in 2024, when my husband and I celebrated our 60th anniversary with three weeks in France, because of you, I sought out a Sezane Store in Paris and purchased a trench coats which I love.

It would be so much fun to visit San Francisco with several friends and shop together at Sezane’s. Did you purchase something for yourself or are you waiting for your next trip to Paris?

    Easter Hugs, Diney
