Roasted turkey tartines are a great way to use all the Thanksgiving leftovers and turn them into a delicious treat.

Ingredients

  • Slices of French country bread (sourdough also works well)
  • Butter
  • Gruyère cheese
  • Leftover turkey
  • Leftover cranberry sauce/relish
  • Bacon

Instructions

  1. Heat a medium skillet over high heat, reduce to medium heat, and cook the bacon, then break it into bite-sized pieces and place it in a bowl.
  2. Using a fork, shred the turkey.
  3. Butter the bread slices and toast them until golden brown.
  4. Grate the cheese and sprinkle it over the toasted bread.
  5. Place the bread slices with the cheese on top and bake under the broiler just until the cheese has melted.
  6. Spread about a tablespoon or two of cranberry sauce on top of the melted cheese.
  7. Place the shredded turkey on top of the cranberry sauce. Add salt and black pepper to taste.
  8. Place a few lettuce leaves on top of the turkey.
  9. Top with a few pieces of bacon.
  10. If desired, drizzle with a little bit of olive oil.
  11. Serve immediately and enjoy!
