Easy caramelized banana and chocolate tartine is perfect for a 10-minute breakfast, snack, or treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slices of bread
  • 1 1/2 bananas sliced
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup
  • 1/2 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • Pinch of flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Slice the bananas into small circles approximately 1/2″ thick and set aside in a bowl.
  2. Put the bread in the toaster and toast. Or, over medium-high heat, melt some butter in a skillet. When the butter has melted and turned light brown, lay the bread in the skillet and toast until done. You can toast both sides but I only toast one side.
  3. Over medium heat, add the coconut oil and cinnamon to a non-stick frying and stir until the mixture is combined.
  4. Place the bananas in the frying pan and drizzle with the maple syrup. Cook until they begin to caramelize. Using a fork, turn the banana slices over and cook the other side until caramelized. Remove from heat.
  5. Spread a layer of the almond chocolate spread on each slice of toast.
  6. Place the caramelized banana slices in a single layer on the toast, sprinkle with the flaky sea salt, and serve immediately.

Notes

I used the Trader Joe’s almond and chocolate spread but you can use Nutella or whatever kind of nut and chocolate spread you prefer.
