The three-layer hot drink has chocolate, espresso, and milk.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3.5-ounce dark chocolate bar
  • 34 ounces espresso
  • 4 ounces milk

Instructions

  1. Place a heat-proof glass bowl in a pan of water on the stove and melt the chocolate.
  2. While the chocolate is melting, fill a small pitcher with hot water to keep it warm.
  3. Brew the coffee. We used three shots of espresso for two Bicerins.
  4. Froth the milk.
  5. Once the chocolate is melted, empty the water from the pitcher, wipe it dry and pour it in.
  6. Fill the bottom of your serving glass with half of the melted chocolate.
  7. Pour coffee over the chocolate using the back of the spoon so the coffee falls gently on the chocolate.
  8. Using the same method, pour the frothed milk over the back of a spoon and scoop the thick milk foam on top.
