In honor of National Chocolate Chip Day, here are some fun chai spiced overnight oats with mini chocolate chips on top.

For the chai spice mixture:

  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tbs. ground cardamom
  • 1/4 tsp. ground clove
  • 2 tsp. ground ginger
  • 2 tbs. ground cinnamon

For the overnight oats:

  • 1/2 teaspoon of chai spice
  • 3/4 cup protein oats
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon of chia seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon maple syrup
  • Mini chocolate chips for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Place six containers on the countertop. I use repurposed 13 oz. Bonne Maman glass jars. A Mason jar works well too.  Just use whatever containers you have. 
  2. To each jar, add the oats and chai spice and shake.
  3. Next, add the chia seeds, maple syrup, and almond milk and stir to make sure all ingredients are well combined.
  4. Screw on the lid to each jar and place them in the refrigerator for at least four hours but preferably overnight.
  5. When ready to eat, remove the lid, sprinkle some mini chocolate chips on top, and enjoy!
