It’s Sunday favorites with Mary Ann and Cindy. This past week, Mary Ann lost her sweet mom, Louise. She was able to be with her and I’m sure that brings her comfort, but she is still very sad. Mary Ann will be writing about her mom and will save her favorites for next week.
1. Keeping in Touch
Someone I have followed for years, Lori Christensen has a subscription service for sending mail. Snail mail! Subscribers receive five themed greeting cards and a matching pen. The program is called OPW – One-Per-Week. It encourages people to express themselves with pen, paper & postage. (There’s an add-on stamp option too)! Subscribe for around $25 per month. Follow @one_per_week on Instagram.
2. A $10 watercolor paint set to Make simple DIY Cards & tags
Several years ago I bought an inexpensive paint set and some watercolor paper. I have been making cards and tags for those times when I can’t find the right card or for when we just want to get creative. Add a paper cutter and maybe a craft punch or two and you are set! You can see our watercolor stripe cards here.
3. Garnet Hill Bedding
We have Garnet Hill bedding on all our beds. They have the best bedding whether you like linen, percale, or flannel, it’s all luxurious. Patrick loved his Flannel Ticking-Stripe Sheets so much this winter that he insisted on taking it back to college. I was about to order another set of flannel to replace it, but as I was searching, up popped new Hemp Chambray Bedding in Hazelnut. See more of Patrick’s room in this post.
What I love about Garnet Hill is how everything mixes and matches from season to season with a few changes or additions. Like in Madeline’s room where we have warm colors of linen sheets, we added a beautiful new Isa Stonewashed Organic-Cotton Blanket in Baked Clay. See more of Madeline’s room in this post.
4. My New Favorite Design Books
I still love to pour over a design book. Sure we have Pinterest with never-ending inspiration, but there’s something about a beautiful design book that will never be replaced with technology. These are a few new ones that caught my eye recently.
5. Sheri Silver’s Rainbow Fudge
Sheri creates the most beautiful and delicious treats. You may recall these cookies that she made last year around St. Patrick’s Day? This year she has created rainbow fudge and well…I think the photos speak for themselves. Go here to read more! And please come back and tell me if you tried it!
Make sure to pop over and say hello to Classic Casual Home and Cindy Hattersley Design today!
Annie,
This rainbow fudge not only looks delicious but fun as well. I will be trying it soon.
I have never bought Garnet Hill linens but all of the products are appealing. I like the originality of their design.
Have a good week.
xo,
Karen
Love all of these Annie! Especially loris monthly cards and the make your own. I am a huge snail mail sender! ❤️ Kristin
OOOH, THAT RATTAN BOOK IS ON MY RADAR. YOUR DIY WATERCOLOR CARDS ARE SO BEAUTIFUL. YOU ALWAYS BLOW ME AWAY WITH YOUR DIY PROJECTS. NOW THAT RAINBOW FUDGE IS BEAUTIFUL, BUT I AM STAYING AWAY FROM THAT!! P.S LOVE PATRICK’S ROOM!! I BET HE LOVES FLANNEL IN SYRACUSE.
can you source the sconce on the wall outside madeline’s room? TY!
Annie really fun post. I always love your cards so much! The subscription service seems like a great idea to keep writing. Love those vintage stamps too. I have a bunch of watercolor card stock and you are inspiring me to try something like yours! So many good books here and I also just bought the Made for Living! Very inspiring and I want the Rattan book too. I totally agree there is nothing like good design books. Pinterest just can’t compete. Have a great weekend Annie! xo
The Garnet Hill Sheets are so organically appealing. Remembering Madeline’s room, I enjoyed it again. Her childhood pottery finishes it perfectly.
If and that’s an if, our granddaughter is able to be in the kitchen Easter weekend, she’s already replied that the rainbow fudge will be a must.
Happy week,
Diney on Camano Island
