A Healthy Date Protein Shake with Chocolate Chips

Besides watching the Indian Wells Open tennis tournament and enjoying Palm Springs back when we lived in Southern California, a date shake at Hadley Fruit Orchard was a must, so I decided to make a healthy version today.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 6 medjool dates
  • 2 tablespoons almond butter (creamy)
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 4 tablespoons hemp protein powder
  • 4 tablespoons protein oats
  • 2 or 3 large spoonfulls of Greek yogurt (plain)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom

Instructions

  1. Transfer all of the ingredients to a blender. Blend for 30 seconds.
  2. Add your desired amount of ice and blend again.
  3. Pour the smoothies into individual containers and top with a few oats and mini chocolate chips.
