Today I’m sharing a few favorites from Serena & Lily that make entertaining a little more festive. Adding a cake stand in any situation seems to elevate whatever is is to a more festive mood. I love Serena & Lily’s dip-dyed cake stands. They have a rustic look to them, but a cake stand just makes everything feel a little more fancy. Not unlike a round cake. If you make a round cake, even if it’s not a layer cake, it seems like you tried harder than if you made a sheet cake…why is that?
dip-dyed cake stands
I use these dip-dyed cake stands all year long, but come the holidays…they are front and center.Top a cake stand with some cups, hot chocolate and a little evergreen and it practically screams CHRISTMAS!I love using cake stands by the sink all year long. Currently I have a little metal house and dish soap and Thieves Household Cleaner. After the holidays I’ll add a small vase with foraged flowers. It makes doing the dishes a little more lovely. It’s always the little things, right?
We love the Tucker Chairs
The Tucker chairs come in five colors and go with any style. We use them with our farm table, but they used to be around our Saarinen table in New Canaan. Perfect from rustic to modern.

Gifts to bring if you are an overnight house guest
If you are going to be an overnight house guest this holiday, consider one of these items: The beautiful Leighton apron is embroidered like the pillows from Serena & Lily. It makes a nice gift for a couple. A gorgeous set of towels is always a welcome gift and Serena & Lily has beautiful linens. If you are not sure of the color, go with white! This teak step stool comes in handy in the kitchen, a bathroom or any room with a small plant. The bleached pine-cone wreath with velvet bow is stunning on any door, above a fireplace or on a wall…it makes a statement on its own.
