I’m joining my dear friends Cindy and Mary Ann and we’ve asked a few others to join us to share spring fashion ideas. Posts are linked at the bottom!
Spring fashion is tricky no matter where you live. We are all ready to shed our layers and thick sweaters, but spring weather can be quite cold. We’ve had a very mild winter, almost spring-like and I expect that feeling to continue right through the calendar spring! I always lament that spring is that time of year where I am the coldest. I dress for much warmer temperatures and the cold and windy weather cuts right through me. This year I’m going to layer cashmere sweaters and t-shirts under a coat like this one and maybe even add a vest for extra warmth on those cold spring days.
What I’ve noticed this year is that the colors for spring are not the typical bright hues that we think of when we think spring, but more earthy in colors that are best described as mustard, goldenrod, terracotta, and brick. Colors that feel like warmth. I love these colors and have been wanting to even use them at home.
Springtime’s newest color trend:
Goldenrod, mustard, brick, and terracotta
- Dried Flowers from Terrain // 2. Cashmere Crew Cardigan Sweater // 3. Reverse Printed Short-Sleeve Silk Sweater // 4. Court Sneaker in Mustard // 5. Retro Sunset Chandelier Earrings // 6. Glazed Pot & Saucer from Terrain // 7. Garment-Washed Crew Neck Sweater // 8. Boardwalk Double Strap Slide // 9. Porcelain Cylinder Pot // 10. Boardwalk Double Strap Slide // 11. Cashmere Fisherman Sweater from Jenni Kayne
You’ll find me wearing this coat all spring…starting now!
- The Mac Coat // 2. Everlane Tanks in white & black // 3. Bandana // 4. Umbrella // 5. Slim Demi-Boot Jean // 6. Cashmere Cardigan Sweater // 7. Uniqlo packable thin vest // 8. Adidas Women’s Leather Sneakers
I love this trench coat from Everlane. It’s my favorite length for all coats. I went up a size so that I can easily layer under it for cold spring weather. I can wear a hooded sweatshirt or a cashmere sweater and a vest on really cold days and yet I don’t feel like I’m wearing my winter coat in March. For wet weather, which we get a lot of, I wear leather sneakers. Wearing rain boots (no matter how cute they look) is dreadful to wear when the sun comes out later in the day. Leather sneakers are my go-to for wet spring footwear.
My absolute favorite jeans
1. The Momjean // 2. The Curvy Perfect Vintage // 3. Slim Demi-Boot // 4. High-Rise Wide-Leg Crop // 5. Slim Wide Leg Jean

Cindy wore a vintage Eileen Fisher Trench more like a dress at the conference we attended last week in San Francisco. The mustard color of the trench was just what I had in mind when I started writing this post. Everyone loved it and then we found out she bought it on eBay? I never would have thought Cindy would buy clothes on eBay? Doesn’t she look fabulous? I love her hair that was making me think of Diane Keaton! You can read more about what we wore to the conference in this post.
Make sure to pop over to these blogs to see what they are wearing this Spring!
