walking at sunrise

Wednesday, January 9, 2013

When I drop my son off at school we admire the sunrise on our way… lately I’ve been walking at Waveny and it has been the most wonderful way to start the day.  I make sure to do all the daily tasks before we leave,  so when I return the house is quiet, in order and that first cup of coffee never tasted so good.   I brought my camera along . . . it was such a pretty morning.  Do you like to rise with sun? This is just how I love to start my day, and I hate it when I wake up after dawn. How lucky you are to have that beautiful old estate to walk in! Gorgeous photos!

What a beautiful place to walk! Yes I love being awake for the sunrise but its too cold (for me) to be out that early. How do you handle the cold? I’m always curious how people in cold weather climates handle it when I have a very hard time handling LA winters. Was it a big adjustment for you moving from California?

    Have a great day Annie!

What a gorgeous place to walk and start your morning! If we didn’t have non-stop rain this time of year I’d be out walking, too. P.S. Hopefully I will make it to NYC again this year so we can finally meet! Will keep you posted.

So wonderful to take this trip down memory lane Annie…such a beautiful spot and I recall spending many a day, in all seasons with all my kids running behind. I remember 4th of July as being my favourite occasion there…
    Best wishes…Jeanne xx

I’m with you Annie, sunrise is such a peaceful time of the day! We have a similar place to walk in our community, called Lake Forest Open Lands and the entrance is the gatehouse of the Amour estate! It’s a beautiful preserve any time of day or year, but always best in the early morning! We walk from our home as Cooper our dog runs in the lead! It’s his favorite place too!

What a beautiful spot! I used to get up much much earlier, but nowadays normally am not one to wake before sunrise. (who am I kidding? Sometimes, they have to drag me out of bed!) I think it is more of a winter thing as I tend to wake earlier in the spring and summer. But I do enjoy it when I do. I especially liked sneaking out of the lakefront cabin we rented upstate and watching sunrise over the lake. It was so lovely and peaceful. Needless to say, I DID bring my camera out at least one morning. Hope all’s well. And I’m still super motivated with my drawer by drawer clean up. You completely motivated me and I am loving the results. I even figured out a better use of one space after 16 years of using it another way. Can’t tell you how much you turned my January around.

It looks just like my area, there are few grand homes just along the road. I always rise with the sun but then I fall asleep at 9.30pm, I’d love to be a night owl.
