Menswear and holiday decor

The hounsdstooth sofa from Dovecoat made the trip to California and is now back in our Connecticut house….we recently added slipcovers in a suit fabric for a pair of chairs. This led to stockings also made from different men’s suit fabrics, the trim from shirt fabrics and our monograms.  I love the look of menswear and the shades of black, gray, white works perfectly in our house.  For color I went with my favorite…all different reds and pinks.  The glassybaby votives glow from dusk until long after we’ve gone to bed.   IMG_9884 IMG_9881 IMG_9777Glassybaby votives in peony, tutu, happiness, rudolph, smooch, bff and seattle sunset.  There’s a few more on my wish list.  I find so much comfort in the glow of these beautiful little votives…made by hand in Seattle, Washington.  I hope you find comfort and joy this holiday season.  xx

I love YOUR HOME! I am using the white glassy baby that you gave me right now to hold a bouquet of red roses with pine leaves on my coffee table.

    Merry Christmas.

How original and fun, Annie, and I bet coal dust doesn’t show very much on those stockings (hee, hee!) We love glassybaby votives and the story behind the company. Who wouldn’t appreciate their commitment to their craft and to charity?! Hope you’re having a great week.

OH. MY. GOD! You KNOW I love these stocking and little peek-a-boo of the sofa and slipcovers! I don’t think I’ve seen the sofa before. This looks like an awesome place to hang out and have a cup of hot chocolate…or maybe a hot toddy.

What HANDSOME Christmas stockings! Santa will be so impressed too… hope he doesn’t stay to long in your warm and lovely room, getting behind on his full schedule!

Thank you for introducing me to Glassybaby!! 10 minutes after reading your blog I had ordered one for a friends Christmas gift! This friend and I have tea together in my home each Christmas eve morning! I couldn’t think of a gift for her this year until I checked out Glasssybaby. She has a new granddaughter named Penelope and we call her “Sweet P”…. Glassybaby has a soft lavender color called sweet pea…. perfect!! I plan to ordered for myself after Christmas when I don’t have to rush an over-night package!!!

Annie you are one of the true originals. There aren’t many. But you are it! You never fail to create an original beautiful environment….for every season!

Love the suit fabric stockings with pink shirt fabric trim…how clever and charming! And those votives really are gorgeous. Going to the website to check them out. Your whole space with the beautiful glow and the great fire looks like a dream.

If I don’t “talk” to you again, have a very Merry Christmas!
