Today I had the pleasure of having lunch with two very good friends. Friends who I have trusted in helping me choose, I guess you could say, the house that we purchased last year and I only saw for the first time on July 4th. A little over a year ago my daughter and I came to look at houses knowing we would be moving back to Connecticut, but we did not see exactly what we were looking for. This time I wanted an old home and within walking distance to the town/train. We went back to California and the following week my husband and son were in NYC for work and then heading to a tournament in Cooperstown, NY. Anne called to say the perfect house had come on the market. I said, “Great, Brent’s in the city, I’ll have him swing by on the way up to Patrick’s tournament.” Photos were emailed back and forth, lots of questions which made no sense to anyone but me…and we bought it.
My friends arrived with flowers…Now our little house is filled with blooms. I also found my new candle from Mary Ann, Classic.Casual.Home. It’s the Laguna candle from Voluspa. I love it!
I adore this mix of white and lime green flowers…and they really do arrange themselves in this Jonathon Adler vase.
I’m a little late to the party, but I’m linking to SmallButCharming.…Jane always has fresh blooms and now kittens!

Annie, you have already made your house a home.
Wow, you’re all moved in. Everything looks beautiful and serene. Love the white hydrangeas.
I can just smell the wonderful aroma your new house must have, I love all the candles and flowers!
Every time you remind us that you bought a house you never saw, I am amazed at how brave you are. These glimpses are lovely. Really beautiful. And candles and flowers make my heart sing!
It is so good to hear you are already having friends come over to your new home. Your flowers are pretty and spotting the black wall is a sure sign you are settling in!
I hope you will think of So. Cal when you light the candle. Your flowers are so so pretty. I just clipped some pink roses from the front.
Flowers and candles really make it feel like home.
I am also loving the glimpses into your new (old) home…and of course, love everything I see! And the black wall is fabulous! It might even inspire me to be brave and do something similar. Hope you are all settling in and enjoying your new surroundings.
Everything looks absolutely gorgeous Annie, your style is impeccable x

Welcome back to the east coast Annie! How is it being back east? I’ve lived outside of Philadelphia my entire life, so east coast has always been home to me. I’m really looking forward to the fall here – it’s my favorite time. If you’re ever in or around Philly let me know!
How funny…I just repinned the top image this morning. Lovely!
Hi Annie, I was on holidays in August for FITH! I am loving the flowers. You take beautiful photos. Sinead
