When I was wrapping up the graduation gifts from Obvious State I used my usual black kraft paper and a photo tag I created along with a little water color heart tag from this project. I order photos from iphoto that come in a sheet of 4 wallet size and then just punch them out with my tag punch. This photo is of “our beach.” The beach that was right at the bottom of the steps in our neighborhood in Dana Point, California. It’s called Strands and it is a great beach, in my opinion, anyway. The night before we left California last July, my daughter met her friends at Strands for one final good-bye. It was a beautiful night and the moon was very bright which caused the girls to lose track of time and stay a little too late. So in a rush to get home and maybe a little distracted by the fact that she was moving again, Madeline left her drivers license, her credit card and $5 bucks in the sand. She of course realized her mistake as soon as she arrived home. The next morning, while the moon was still bright we ran down the steps and walked along the beach hoping the tide had not come up during the night. The beach is wide and she couldn’t remember exactly where they were sitting. We walked and talked and kept our eyes scanning every square inch of the beach. And then there it was, just as she left it. We hugged, had a nice laugh and marveled at how amazing it was to find everything. A photo tag adds a little extra meaning to the gift.
