Last year when we were getting ready to move I was trying to use what I had to create things and not buy more stuff. It kind of became a habit that I am embracing. I love to send home made valentine’s. This year I used card board that I cut into squares to fit the vellum envelopes I’ve had forever. I always keep cardboard from Ikea boxes…it’s clean and big and comes in handy for those times when your kid says on Sunday night, “does anyone have a poster board?” I painted gold hearts over chalkboard paint and wrote a message using a gold paint pen, tied it up with twine and cut hearts to put into each envelope. Are you sending cards, flowers, chocolates?

These are beautiful, Annie! What a special and thoughtful way to give a valentine. LOVE!
Another amazing craft from Annie. I love that you do things like this. It’s so thoughtful and truly from the heart, and WAY better and more personal than the hallmark cards. I usually make homemade cards for the kids, but nothing as fancy as yours. This year I might step it up a bit, thanks to your inspiration. Jackie
Simply beautiful!!!
As usual, you put me to shame. I haven’t made valentines since my kids were in school. It looks like you have a wonderful craft table there by the window!
Your valentines are wonderful. Your recipients will have great fun receiving them. I truly enjoy Valentines Day. I just sent out my Hallmark valentines, but it was still fun. The stamps are great, don’t you think? I enjoy planning a day of slipping in a heart wherever I can to those that have my heart forever. I bet you do, too. I would love to sit and make something at your desk at the window. A great spot.
The golden hearts on black is a stunning look! WOW!! Surly they will win the hearts of your VALENTINE”S!!
I love using what I have laying around the house too. Why buy more stuff. We aren’t sending cards, but we do have to make 34 valentine’s for Sutton’s class and make some sort of contraption to hold all the valentine’s she’ll get at school. I have no idea what we’re going to come up with yet! I like this cardboard idea though. I wonder if my sewing machine can handle sewing through cardboard!
Very creative and thoughtful. The fact that you take the time to do something so caring is really unique and remarkable. I just sent Tommy an I miss you note, plastic heart full of Skittles and his sun glasses that he forgot at home (spring break in Key West is coming up). You make me want to remember other as well.
Seriously Annie, you always come up with the most thoughtful and clever creations! I love when I see that you have a new post because I know it’s going to be a treat for the soul and the eyes. Fantastic
Have a great weekend….stay warm!
