Forsythia and Jo Malone IMG_0636 Dean & DeLuca Lemon Verbena TeaI love the work of Lisa Congdon and I am so inspired by her 365 days of Hand lettering Project.  I think one of the reasons I am drawn to this is because I have always been interested in hand lettering.  When I was in school my teachers and professors would often comment on my interesting looking notes.  To me, my notes were basically just drawings and words made beautiful by the way I put them on the pages of my spiral notebook.  I used different styles of lettering and boxed things, shaded others…if anyone missed a class –they came to me for my notes.  It kept me focused and engaged and note taking was just something I did well.  And now it is a form of art for artists like Lisa….how could I not love that?

I’m sending my girl friends a little card and a packet of one of my favorite teas from Dean & DeLuca.  Happy Spring!  It’s snowing outside my window right now!

I have been getting into hand lettering too. I feel like a wannabe sometimes because I don’t know all the typographic terms, but I love it! Your lettering looks great. It’s not easy to write on a curve like that.

I love your printing and drawing style, it’s happy, straight forward, and a lot like Lisa Congdon’s! The tea bags wrapped like little presents are so sweet!

It’s not Spring in Chicago either, but your forsythia’s is a good sign that it’s near!!

    Best wishes for a lovely weekend… 🙂

A handwritten note is always lovely to receive and even better when done beautifully like yours. So wish our boys would get the hang of note taking and writing! Hope it warms up for us this weekend.

Such a thoughtful gift anything with handwritten or bow ties adds that special touch.
