a visit to the ny showroom of School House Electric

Thursday, November 22, 2012

After an airport drop off I found myself emerging from the Holland Tunnel and I could sense that I was in the vicinity of SchoolHouse Electric  on Vestry Street.  I’ve been wanting to visit for sometime before placing an order, but I just never seem to be in the area.  Turns out I was one minute away and a parking spot was right there…after checking about a thousand times that I was not in a tow away zone, I walked a block and a half to the SchoolHouse Electric Manhattan showroom.  It did not disappoint.NYCSchool House Electric + Dunes and Duchess

Before I even turned the door knob I spotted the gorgeous work of Stacy Kunstel –Dunes and Duchess.  I absolutely love these and sort of dream of having one…or two.  It looks quite at home at SchoolHouse Electric CoSchool House Electric ManhattanSchool House Electric ManhattanSchool House Electric ManhattanSchool House Electric ManhattanGorgeous lighting…obviously, beautiful linens, exposed brick…I could just move right in, you?  Happy Thanksgiving!

Wow, those bedside sconces in the last photo….so gorgeous, and you’re right…the brick, the linens…all so perfect. And are those extension cords in the wire basket? They are so cool looking! I am so jealous that you get to go into Manhanttan! It was always a dream of mine to live there for one year. Hope you found what you were looking for at School House Electric…there products are really great.

I only have to make the potatoes today to take to my daughter & son-in-law’s home. Seems too easy but I’m loving it!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Annie. xo

Annie in another life you must have been a lighting tycoon or something! I love those bedside sconces, too!

How do you always know where to go and manage to get there? I so wish I wasn’t working so much so I could tag along on more field trips :)

I love seeing pictures of the store — I adore their website. So many little details to check out, but the one I’m digging most is those olive colored shelves. Hmmm. Where can I do that? It’s such a great color. I bet you spent hours checking out every little thing!
